Flashed the tune and changed tire size. ABS light immediately came on. Looked up code, C0238, wheel speed mismatch. This is a known issue to changing tire size to a certain point apparently. Looked into the tune with HP Tuners and it shows that the tire size is set at 18.77". It also does not change ANY fuel or timing tables, but changes trans shift points (at least in my application). Tried to flash the tune back to stock to return the unit and it failed to flash back repeatedly. I don't know if I got a faulty unit or not, but luckily I had the stock tune backed up in HP Tuners and was able to restore it through that. Returned the unit.

Works well in my 2002 avalache 2500 with the 8.1L. Was hoping to get the option to adjust shift firmness but it's not an option. It may be b/c my is not an Allison trans like most of them are.

Ive had Hypertech programmers before. I could've spent more on a different brand but this one does what I need without breaking the budget. Mileage is still about the same but I bought it to up the power. Now my 04 Yukon with 190,000 miles is almost as peppy as a new one. It did away with those hard 4000 rom down shifts and holds its speed. Big improvement.

Have not used yet but have previous experience with Hypertech with good results. Sold truck before installing.

You have to download the program with a computer, then installing it in the vehicle is easy. Slightly more torque, and better shift points in the transmission make the vehicle more fun to drive. Worth it.

Had another tuner that gave me nothing but issues with my old truck. This tuner did what I needed! Easy to follow instructions, great instant performance! Noticed performance out of the gate!{UPDATE}Unfortunately, after calling the company, the tuner is only 5 months old, and I have the original boxpackaging, I can get about $100 of value from a trade in. The truck I bought it for died, so I had to get rid of it. I did reprogram the truck before I got rid of it. But after talking to the company, they will only give $100 value of the $350 i paid for it towards a new one for my new vehicle. Had to modify the rating based on the small value the company would put on a trade in. If it were the other way around, and I would get $250 or even 200, that would be more in line with what I would see as acceptable.

Extremely disappointed in this. I recently lifted my Tahoe, changed the gearing and put 35" tires on it. I purchased this to calibrate the speedometer. After reading the reviews, I thought I would purchase this model instead of Hypertech's cheaper unit because this one supposedly increased gas mileage. First off, it only calibrates up to 35" tires, at freeway speeds, my speedo is still about 5 mph off (comparing against two different gps units). For over $300 I expect it to be right on. Secondly, it claims to be able to increase power and fuel economy (which seemed to good to be true) however after running it for 30 days, I actually averaged about 1/2 mpg less and did not notice any power gains. I averaged 4 my mpg's over 4 tanks of gas with the power setting and 4 tanks without in the month I had it. I am returning this one and looking for a different option to calibrate my speedo. I gave it 2 stars because it helped calibrate the speedo but still didn't get it very close to where it needs to be.

Just installed my new Hypertech Max Energy in my 2005 Silverado z71 extended cab with the 5.3. Installation was very easy. I did review the instructions online prior to installing. I got en error to start off but the fix was to just unplug and plug the programmer back in per the instructions on the screen. I added the following tuning. I did the extreme regular unleaded tune. Raised my rev limiter to 5,800. Changed my tire size to 32.25 to match my new BFGs. Changed the 1-2 shift up 100 rpm, changed the 2-3 shift up 500 rpm, ( the stock shift point for the 2-3 was 5,000 which was way too low as it dropped the revs down too far out of the power band after the shift) and I changed the 3-4 up 100 rpm. I chose to firm up the shifts to the 75% level. I also raised my top speed to 106 mph. I left the cooling fan cut on at the same temperature. Now it's hard to quantify how much power this makes but it definitely is more. Also the shift points make a huge difference in how the truck accelerates. The shifts just happen at a better time and they are quicker and more positive feeling. The truck easily reaches the new top speed, surprisingly easy! I did install a Flowmaster supertruck style cat back exhaust about a month ago so I don't know how much these two work together but wheel spin will happen if I don't take it easy. I did a quick errand run on a freeway trip and got 15.5 MPG running at or near 100 almost the entire time. which is about 2 mpg better than before. But obviously that is too short a distance to be very scientific or accurate but it's what I got. The one negative I can think of after this short time with the programmer is the top speed limiter kicks in very hard, almost feels like I stabbed the brakes. For $290ish dollars this added a lot of fun to my old Chevy. Will tow 6,000 pounds with it this weekend. I will update if anything negative comes up.

I like the programmer. Took awhile to figure it out. Recommend watching the online video and reading the installation instructions that come with it. I installed all three performance level and like Stage 2 the best. That seems to work the best with the stock setup on my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD with Duramax Diesel and slightly oversized tires. Planning to replace the Intake runner to the manifold and the air inlet to the turbo and see how that works with the Stage 2 programming. I've loaded Stage 3 and notice significant black smoke on acceleration with my current setup. Hopefully the air flow improvements and blocking the EGR ports will clear that up and improve mileage. The unit will correct speedometer errors as a result of moving up to larger tires. Took me awhile to get that figured out but it works. Now only have a 1 MPH error at 70 MPH instead of 5 MPH error with stock tires. I can live with that.
