It works well. The display picture is a bit exaggerated which I expected of course but at least in comparison to a 40 gallon tank this hardly even fills a corner of my tank. I have a 20 dollar bubbler in the shape of a dragon that produces more bubbles. An air bar produces about 3x as much. Small whispy bubbles isn't the way to go in my opinion it's more like a soda frizzing than actually producing bubbles. The larger bubbles from the other bubblers I have produce more surface agitation these bubbles are so tiny they hardly move the surface at all and there's so few of them I don't really see the appeal.

This thing really pumps out the bubbles! My turtle enjoys playing and swimming into them.It works well with my air pump and I love that I'm able to adjust the flow with my air pump.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I recommend it.

Decided to do a review today as one of my stones started to have issues. I purchased the first one 5 years ago and the second about 6 months after. I did that so I could more easily swap them out while cleaning. They were the 4" versions. They would accumulate algae / diatoms over the course of a month or so. Easiest cleaning method was to take it out and soak it in a water / bleach solution (vinegar works also but not nearly as effectively/quickly) for an hour or so, then rinse well and soak in water+prime, rinse, let air dry.Having two made it simple - just swap to a clean one during a water change then soak the dirty one.I saw some reviewers saying their stones grew "mold" or discolored. Pretty sure that's just algae and / or diatoms. One of the pics is definitely brown algae / diatoms. That happens in a tank, no matter how established / clean, especially visible on a bright white air stone. The issue with mine (the 5 year old one) is that after the most recent cleaning, I started to see a few sand particles coming out of the inlet nozzle when rinsing. Also started to hear some rattling when shaking the water out. Decided to take that one apart just to see what was inside (see pics). Looks like they are two pieces - the top cover - a fine white diffuse stone and a portion below / glued inside, which looks like a slightly more course / sandstone type diffuser. Its possible that 5 years of bleach soaking started to break down the course stone inside, but not complaining as I mentioned - it lasted 5 years and my other one is still fine. Probably order another one to continue my monthly swaps.

4 inch air stone is so strong to generate a good amount of air bubbles in my 55 gallon tank. All of the fish and shrimps love to swim around ,seem to be fascinated by the sight. Also it is powerful enough to create water waves in the aquarium .

At first it was fine even though the small bubbles were only present in one certain area of the bubbler, after a month or so the when I unplugged the bubbler and then plugged it back in I noticed the configuration and size of the bubbles had changed, the bubble are now large and only emitting from one side of the bubbler with the centre of it creating no bubbles at all. For a decently large sized bubbler and the price, not worth it evidently.

Great product, at 18" in my tank no bubbles came out, so I had to upgrade my air pump. (had a very large dual for 100 gal tank) The new pump will power a stone 1.5 meters deep in water. I like the stone alot. I wish the pump information was on there.. although it has little to do with the air stone, it would have helped. The air stone is weighted nicely so it won't move at all. I liked the look and quality

Changing my first review which was poor, as I received a defective product. I also contacted Hygger, and they reached out to ensure that I got a replacement quickly and easily! The new (4") airstone works great. My fish really love playing in the tiny bubbles, and prefer the Hygger airstone to any other I have tried. 1 star off because the 3rd party seller said they accidentally sent me a used product initially, which seems to be an Amazon issue across the platform.

My featherfin catfish knocked the input valve for my HOB filter 2x in a few weeks ( they love filters...) and I came home to my silver dollars being distressed.Having this in my 55 gallon relieves my anxietythe fish love the bubbles and it's a great way to prevent my catfish from committing 'murder' ( joking)This way, the tank has oxygen sources on either side and it was very simple to install. Great product.*coincidentally, no more filter issues with hob either... for whatever reason.

Having several airstones of different quality and sizes. This is by far the best. Not inexpensive but in this case you get what you pay for. I was sick of cheap units and weak materials. I'm definitely now a Hygger fan. I bought the 10w airport with it as well as the sponge filter. All excellent.

It’s way too overpriced first of all.I just really liked how fine the bubbles came out.On the package, it says to scrub it every month to ensure function. I tried scrubbing it once I started seeing algae spots on it. That happened in two weeks and it wouldn’t come off. I tried soaking the bubbler in bleach and I’ve tried vinegar, yet it still wouldn’t come off. The algae hinders the bubbler and not as many bubbles are produced. I’m disappointed in this purchase as my return window ended and now it’s not even producing that many bubbles. It’s also huge and my fish don’t really like to swim over it.
