Purchased this to use in my basement that we are finishing. It definitely reduces the amount of drywall dust floating around. Only downside is the hose disconnects from the sander handle, which can be frustrating. If there were a clamp or lock to prevent it, that would be great.

I could cry when I first used this terrific improvement when sanding drywall. It's the best invention ever, and this product seems to be well designed and comes with an adapter that will fit any vacuum. Money well spent for an extremely effective product to keep dust levels to a minimum.

I've been putting off several projects, including sanding the kitchen ceiling and walls after repairs from water damage. Even if you cover everything, the kitchen is the worst place in the house for dealing with drywall dust. So, having completed that project, here are my thoughts.Pros:+ Amazon delivered on time.+ Everything was in the box and undamaged.+ The product is sturdy.+ Putting it together and hooking it up to the shop vac was easy.+ The suction is good once I figure out how to set it.+ The price is reasonable.Cons:- The manual is horrible. It took me a while to realize how to adjust the suction.- The sanding screen is cheap, leaving grooves I had to smooth out later without a dust-free system (I held the shop vac under a sanding block).- The Amazon links to other sanding screens and paper are not compatible. So, overall, it did a good job with dust. I will use it for the roughest part of sanding, but I will still be dealing with some dust without a compatible fine sanding screen or paper.

This product works very well right out of the box but was made even better after I ran some electrical tape around the perimeter of the sanding pad before the screen was attached. Now basically no dust escapes as I manoeuvre it around. As an added bonus (?) you will also get a great workout by using this tool!

Fantastic product! I hooked this up to my shop vac with a bag in the vac and NO dust! None! I couldn't believe it. I was amazed at how well this sander worked, and easy to put the sand screens on. I definitely recommend this product. I had a similar sander before made by another company and is was horrible. The dust just billow, and tins of it piled up on the vottom of the wall- not with this sander! Or my vac- highly recommend this one!

Was sceptical. I was wrong. This works pretty well and reduces 80-90% of the dust in my drywalling project. Used with a 5hp 10 gallons vacuum that I had installed outside. Side note: keep an eye on your vacuum motor temperature and give a break once in a while to avoid burning bushing. Also use bag and dust filters to collect particles.

Dont like to do large drywall job due to the sanding process that kicks up a lot of dust and just makes it a very messy job. More so when doing repairs or remodels in your home, with kids running around. Dont want them to breath in the fine drywall dust. This contraption just works. The screen sands down the compound and the yellow screen holder has air passages in them to suck in the dust and send it into your vacuum. It greatly reduced the dust around the area. Coupled with a HEPA filter, there were no issues. STILL RECOMMEND WEARING A RESPIRATOR.Only gripe is the supplied air hose to attach to your shop vac is on the stiffer side. So it can get a little annoying while sanding walls or ceilings due to it not flexing enough.

The vacuum sander worked very well on my newly plastered kitchen ceiling, leaving no dust at all. I frankly couldn't have asked for more. At the low price, the sander is a great tool for a homeowner, doing modest projects. There is nothing fancy about the sanding unit, but it does the job well.I had plastered the ceiling of our kitchen and needed to lightly sand the high spots. The sander hose easily connected to the hose of my shop vacuum, giving me about ten to twelve feet of hose length to work with on a low ladder. I used my own sanding screen, which went on easily. While not a fancy piece of equipment, the sanding unit worked well for my modest project. If one was doing a really large job, upgrading to a more professional sander would be good option. But for the price, this little unit worked well for me.The sanding unit has a setting to adjust the suction power, which I couldn't quite figure out. I might have to break the "male rules" and read the instruction sheet next time. I wish the unit was made in the USA.

Despite a few negative reviews, I couldn't help but wonder if it would really work. I came back so many times, and finally just ordered it. It came fast along with other products I had ordered. First impression was wow, it seemed fairly sturdy and came with those extra fittings to help fit it all together. We have a sears craftsman 20 gal. wet/dry vac. and we were able to fit this on with the adapter. We also were able to use a hose off an old shop vac to make it even longer. These adapters were a life saver. I turned it on and started testing it out on a large area of drywall covered with joint compound that was dry. I was so amazed that I had to show everyone and get them to try it. My husband who had been negative about such a product came around to liking it. I mean, all us girls in the family will never live without it again. We almost want to buy another just in case this one happens to break so to have a backup. I like it that much. I like that as I'm checking the wall, it stays on the wall with suction. It frees my hands up, and I don't have to keep bending down repeatedly to pick it back up. Depending on what your doing the suction can also be adjusted. I didn't think I would actually care or need that function but I did. Once I moved into texturizing the wall it needed to be a bit lighter touch, and by adjusting the suction it made it perfect. The dust level was low, which is important with a little one in our home. We had put off a few projects for that very reason. I will still use caution, and proper airing techniques, but this product makes it a cinch to set up knowing I don't have to hang partitions like on a job site. I totally recommend this product for anyone who has to sand drywall, joint compound or anything like that. Also will be using it to sand a painted wall to degloss it. I think it was worth every cent.Update: I still own this product. It is still in good condition and we are using it for a room remodel/kitchen and family room. I still recommend this product. My son in law bought it when he saw mine and he doesn't regret his purchase either. As we like to say, the greatest gadget since razor blades. I still have no regrets on this purchase. Just wanted to let everyone know, it's holding up just fine for us.
