Then we need to drap a deer out this is a back saver. My only grip is that the rope is not long enough, but I just replaced it with a longer rope.

I paired this up with a game sled and it made dragging my bear out of the woods a much easier task. Being able to distribute the weight and allowing you to lean into your pull without holding on to what you're dragging makes this quite effective.Simple. Cheap. Effective. A+

I bought this harness to pull my Smitty sled for ice fishing over snow and ice. I used it about five times and it worked very well.

I haven't actually use it to pull deer yet but did pull wife off of chair while she held it.

It doesn’t have directions so after trying it out on hay bales i figured out the ideal way to use it. Haven’t gotten to try it on a deer yet but the concept of it worked well dragging 80lb bales.

Sa devrait bien servir se a quoi c'est sensé servir. Pas encore essayer mais a l'air robuste. Bonne grandeur et ajustement facile.

I bought this harness to use with my jet sled hauling game meat out of the field in the snow. I'm a 64 year old hunter with Osteoarthritis, so backpacking quartered elk out of the field really isn't an option. This harness has a single connection point in the rear. I'm a XXXL person. The harness has plenty of adjustment for me. Although this is a no thrills option, the straps are thick and strong and the harness is well made. Wasn't concerned with padding because my coat will be padding enough in cold weather. The buckles are plastic but strong. There are no metal rings so I had to add that upgrade. If I was to use this harness in warmer weather, I would definitely add some shoulder and hip padding (slip on seat belt padding works for this). If I ever get the money to hunt big game more than once or twice a year, then I would spend the extra dime and purchase a drag harness with padding already installed.

For the cost this was a good purchase. The nylon webbing is thin and twists/folds easily. There is no padding (which is disclosed, no surprise there) which means when the straps cut in they do so with a vengeance under load. As others have noted, the waist size has a generous amount of adjustment. The chest strap, however is very short. I ended up fabricating an extension- I'm 6'1", 240#, 42" waist and 47" chest without a coat. If the chest strap were 6" longer, I'd have given it 4 stars. Considering the next step up in cost was more than twice the price and it's for occasional use, I don't regret the choice I made. Oh- used for pulling a sled, not dead deer.

I have owned a few of these over the years. My last one was about useless and so I ordered this one. I wanted to wait to post a review until I could actually test it. I am extremely happy to report that I dragged a 200+ lb deer up a ravine and about 400yrds using this and this is by far the best one I have owned. The waist strap and the chest strap make such a huge difference in comparison to others I ha e owned without them. The rope that comes with this is very short and not nearly enough length to drag a deer with. I am 6'2" and with the provided rope I had to squat on my knees to use it. Fortunately, I had a few carabiners and extra rope in my pack and after a quick switch got to work quickly and effortlessly dragged my deer. I have to say on the behalf of the manufacturer or seller that I can not knock them for the rope length though. I purchased this for the harness and overall the quality was much better than I expected it to be and has functioned better than any other I've owned. I did use this to drag one additional deer the next day with my longer rope modification and after two full uses I have nothing but good things to say. In order to make this even better I purchased 2 padded straps normally used for seat belt padding and comfort from a local auto parts store and added them to the chest portion of this harness. I am excited for the next use with that add on but again nothing but a huge thumbs up and good praise for this harness. By far the best I've owned. Get you one if you're on the fence!

For the money this belongs in every solo hunters pack. I was surprised at the thickness of the straps, and the overall quality for what I paid for it. I just used it last week to drag an old doe out of a muddy cornfield. The supplied rope looked way too short at first, but i made it into a constricting loop, and put the deer's front legs and head through. Turns out it is the perfect length to pick up the deer a bit, and aid in the dragging. Overall it worked very well, distributing the load on both my shoulders and my waist. I felt like I had a lot more power to drag, versus pulling with my arms out behind me. It also packs down pretty small. The waist was huge, I trimmed a good amount off for my use, but it's nice they make it big enough to fit anybody.

*IntroI go winter camping once or twice a year and I carry my stock by pulling a sled tied around my waist. I was using a simple tool belt for a couple of years and as soon as the terrain was not leveled, the weight of the load would push or pull the belt around my torso, eventually making it harder to control the sled and at the end of the day I'd worked harder than needed and would be exhausted.*I have been shopping for a good pulling harness, mostly crossfit harnesses and sled harnesses, both offering solutions a lot more expansive than this one and generally not very suitable for my sled. I bought this one thinking that for the cost I couldn't lose much to try. Oh boy am I glad I gave it a try. The quality is a lot higher than expected, the amazon picture does not honor the product.I added a couple of eyelets to the waist band and it works like a charm with my sled.

Although it can be a little confusing finding out what strap goes where when first putting it on, especially if you've just killed a deer at sunset and now have to put it on in the pitch black of the woods, it is a great harness. A harness is an excellent choice for dragging deer, much more so if you have back, arm or joint issues like myself. It allows you to use your entire upper body to drag your deer, plus it leaves your hands free so you can still carry your other gear while dragging the deer. Even a pack can be worn overtop of this harness with ease. I highly recommend you practice putting it on before you ever get out to the field, and I even recommend that once you get it on right, you use a permanent marker to label left shoulder, right shoulder, and the waist strap. That'll make putting it on so much easier the second time. For the price, it can't be beat. The material isn't incredibly heavy but should stand up to dragging deer just fine. I didn't have any problems with it in the woods.
