Now .. I bought it in September before they go out of stock again so haven't used it on the ice as yet .. only concern is the feel of the cable sheathing .. it feels soft and pliable and fragile and if pulled would stretch easily giving little or no protection of the wires inside .. but maybe it performs better in the cold when ice fishing so I'm not passing judgement yet .. I'll update after the cold sets in.

CHIRP Ice transducer power cord feels spongy. I finally got the transducer for my humminbird MSI CHIRP GPS G3 and if i could go ice fishing (no ice in January in Minnesota. That's unheard of!) I'm afraid, without a rope to support the transducer. All it would take is to lift the transducer out of the hole without paying attention or in a hurry. Have it hang up on something, ice for instance nand separate the cord from the transducer. There was a humminbird Transducer shown that came with a rope and a clip that goes into the 3 little slots round the top of the cone. Problem was it wasn't for the CHIRP units. So i called Humminbird. The CSrep i talked with said they don't sell a clip like that. Which i found strange because there's one in the ad in a humminbird enclosed package. He suggested looking aftermarket. I suggested Humminbird add the clip that they supposedly don't have. On all the iceducers. Since there are slots on each iceducer for something exactly like they "don't have" but is included on another model. I asked him if he had any suggestions on what i might call a 3 legged "clip' with a something for a rope to attach to" he didn't know. I said me either. Which makes it really hard to search for. I looked through all of humminbirds lists of transducers, misc, cables and hardware nothin. He said he was holding and stretching a transducer chord just like mine. He assured me he was pulling hard and he thought it was quite strong. Well let's hope so but I'm still going to try and find or make something to ease my mind. I've attached 2 pics. The white lines on my transducer are lines i made with white out to help in marking cuts on a few ideas that haven't panned out. The second pic is the transducer I'd referenced early that clearly shows a humminbird transducer with a rope and clip support. It'd be nice if they just sold something made for that... Humm

The cord on my previous ice transducer was damaged and the transducer quit working. The damage also cause the Helix 5 unit to revert to all default settings. I ordered this one as a replacement. It took me awhile and a few you tube videos to get the correct settings. The transducer works great now.

Completely satisfied with the sensor's performance. My expectations have been exceeded. Particularly intrigued by the features 2D Zoom View (Sonar Colors - 1), Zoom RTS Windows (Mono), and Flasher View. Fishing is a true delight.

It fits my Humminbird Helix 5 as per instructions and it has worked multiple times when ice fishing this winter. The only issue would be cosmetic, the humminbird sticker comes off the foam that keep the transducer afloat, but that does not affect my rating.
