The Humminbird XP 9 20 T Puck Transducer is designed to mount to the inside of most fiberglass hulls with a deadrise less than 15 degrees, and transmit the sonar signal through the hull itself. Your boat's hull must be of single-layer, fiberglass construction and be free of trapped air or voids in order for a puck transducer to operate correctly, so cored fiberglass, metal and wood will not work. This unit is meant to be glued to your inner hull with a slow-cure epoxy, which is included, and connects to your compatible Humminbird sonar or fish finder system via the included 15-foot cable. The Humminbird XP 9 20 T is a single/dual puck transducer with a built-in temperature sensor, and is designed to be used with Humminbird's; Legend ID40, Piranha 5, PiranhaMax 10, PiranhaMax 15, PiranhaMax 20, Matrix 15, Matrix 17, Matrix 25, Matrix 27, Matrix 55, Matrix 65, Matrix 67, Matrix 97, FF515, FF535, and FF565. This item is backed by Humminbird's one-year limited warranty.

Need to replace this same one in my boat. Plug end was different but was able to switch out. Now I know how deep the water is again.

I have not opened this item because I learned from my boat manufacturer that it will not work in my boat. According to Carolina Skiff customer support, this transducer will not work in any of their skiff hulls because those boats ride on a cushion of air bubbles. With the air bubbles under the boat, this transducer's signal will penetrate the hull, but not the agitated water beneath the boat. If you have a Carolina Skiff, do not purchase this item. I guess I'll try to sell mine.

My Hatteras boat was made in the 1960's when they were building hills 1 1/4 inches thick of solid fiberglass. I mounted this transducer inside the hull and now my Hummingbird depth finder works flawlessly. Comes with easy to use two part adhesive. Excellent product.

Works with 800 and 900 series units. I epoxy'd it in the center of the Bilge on my Ranger Z20 Bass Boat and I'm reading bottom depth, temp', and 2D sonar at 60+ mph.

Humminbird (who also made the Livorsi depth finders) changed their connectors at some point. My depth finder used a different connector than the updated transducer. There is an adapter, but it's not free. In my case, it made more sense to purchase an entire new depth finder than it did to purchase the adapter. I sent this back (no hassle through Amazon!) and ordered a new depth finder. The depth finder is no longer available with the shoot through hull transducer, but Humminbird offers a free transducer exchange and I was able to get this transducer as a replacement for the transom mount transducer that shipped with my new depth finder.

Excellent replacement puck with epoxy adhesive. Works as indicate with specified humminbird products. Worth the cost if a second transducer is needed.

Running a 798si di on a 28' v-hull Wellcraft and wanted a solution for simple depth and sonar while WOT (60mph) or a minimum at least on plane. Had concerns about big block 496 interference and thickness of the hull. First 30 seconds on the water all fears were put to rest. Ran it through the paces throughout the day and all results were very pleasing. Also note that I installed it with the y-harness, not the switch. I'm not sure about the sensitivity for locating fish compared to an outboard ducer but I did see fish pop up on the sonar display. I may end up installing the switch anyway for 83khz/200khz beams to be outboard off plane, but I'm just not sure it's necessary. Great addition to the SI/HD sensor.
