I have a great chair in my office, but my back would still get tense during the day. I decided to give adding a footrest a try. The Wirecutter (NYT) had this one as their upgrade pick, and it looked like an attractive bit of kit. On the very first day, it greatly improved my overall posture, and I felt better at the end of the day. After having this for a month, my wife wanted to use it. I was happy that she was interested and so pleased with the footrest that I ordered a second one so that we would both have one.I'm sure that other footrests would give positive results for increasing comfort during a day sitting in front of the computer. The Humanscale Footrest is very attractive, and I do enjoy the back and forth motion to keep your legs moving during long Zoom calls. It is a bit spendy when compared to other footrests, but if you are looking for something that is high quality and attractive, I would recommend the Humanscale.

So I have been a desk jockey for over 20 years and have spent LOTS of money on footrests over the years. This is my favorite footrest out of the many I have purchased (over 8 different models).I like rocking footrests that move, I have found it makes a huge difference for me.My prior favorite was the Eureka Tilt ergonomic footrest at about $40. Super sturdy and has laster over 6 years. This humanscale footrest is everything the Eureka is, just a little bit better. Probably not as durable in the long term, but it is more comfortable, the rocking motion is far far superior, and it looks great vs the Eureka is kinda ugly.If you sit at a desk for a living treat yourself to this footrest and a nice chair. Yes they are expensive, but to protect your back and joints, it is CHEAP. Take care of your body!

This foot rocker has been a game-changer for my girlfriend's ankle pain. The gentle rocking motion allows her to move while working, and the height adjustment lets her sit comfortably at her desk. It's sturdy, non-slip, and compact enough to use under her desk. After just a few days, she noticed a significant reduction in her ankle pain.Highly recommend to anyone suffering from foot or ankle pain, especially those who sit for long periods!

Worth the price.

Sturdy and stays in place, unlike rounded bottom footrests. But unlike those, does not really "rock - requires significant muscle pressure to move back and forth.

This under desk foot rest is just what I was looking for. Although at first I thought it was a bit pricey, when it arrived I could immediately see that it is extremely sturdy and well made. The design is simple, with few moving parts to go wrong, and it is very adjustable to get just the right height and angle to rest your feet so it helps take the strain off your hips and back. All of the components are sturdy and should last a lifetime. I highly recommend this.

It's like a fidget spinner for your feet. It also makes you look like you have some kind of condition. But I'll be darned if it ain't comfy. It's just the right height to raise your feet slightly and take pressure off your lumbar spine. Plus, you can rock it back and forth to regain circulation if your feet start falling asleep. It's objectively better for your feet and legs than just letting them rest on the floor. It says kindly old gentleman and OCD sufferer in a sort of incongruous and unsettling combination. A real power move. This is like something your 60-year-old, bald-pated, finger-steepling, Maserati-driving boss puts under his desk just to put you on edge when you're in his presence, making uncomfortably direct, unblinking eye contact with his icy blue eyes and a faint, devilish smirk with his perfectly white teeth as he rolls it back and forth, the bearings making a faint sawing noise under his desk. If you dare break eye contact and look down, you'll see his dress shoes neatly set aside, his overly-long, rabbit-like feet wrapped in black argyle socks, undulating back and forth. That sawing could be you, the innocent motion seems to say. It could be your neck if your performance in the next quarter is no better than the last.Only a true psychopath (or a lover of good ergonomics) would buy something like this and use it at work. But hey, it matches the steel-and-wood look of my battlestation at home.

Product seems to work smoothly and well at the lowest height setting. However, when I raise it to its highest height setting and tighten the knobs as tight as I can (to keep it at that setting), they are still not tight enough--when my feet are on the device and I apply enough pressure against it to roll my chair back from my desk, the device collapses down to its lowest height setting every time. It's impossible to tighten the knobs enough to prevent this collapse. So you'll need to train yourself to push back with only your arms against the desk instead of your feet against the floor. Also, when the knobs are tightened like this, it causes the metal frame to tighten up enough millimeters to cause something to rub on the device when you rock it back and forth, causing noise, which doesn't happen at the lowest setting when the devise is not fully tightened. I'd recommend you buy this device only if you are planning to use it only at its lowest height setting (which does not require any tightening of the knobs). After I've used it for a week or so, I'm hoping I'll be able to see the marks of where it's rubbing and perhaps shave/sand that edge to solve the rubbing problem (which will only work if it's the wood that's rubbing and not the wheels on the track). A product this expensive really should not require this kind of post-purchase modification. The non-slip strips are a rubbery material (not a sandpapery material) and seem very durable. The strips are inlaid and flush to the surface of the board, so the edges should not curl up and peel over time as your feet rub against them--this was a very nice quality touch that pleasantly surprised me.
