Dirct replacement battery. Easy replacement after watching YouTube DIY video. Wish it had better run time on the laptop.

Bought this battery one year ago and now it can not hold a charge. Have to keep the laptop plugged in all the time. Will look for other sellers to purchase a new battery.

Battery is worn out on my 3 year old computer but it is still working great so instead of upgrading thought id figure out how to replace the battery. After a you tube video of how to take the case off the back it was super simple and I'd recommend to everyone who has never replaced a battery before. Its not that hard once you get the case apart. The whole process took about 15 min (again... searching for the video to figure out the removal of the case is included in that time.) Once case was off, pull one battery, plug the other in... done. Super happy.

Getting the laptop apart is straightforward and there are plenty of videos showing how to do it. There were 4 screws holding the old battery in. There is Loc-Tite on the screws, making them a little more difficult to unscrew. In addition, my old battery was so swollen that it was really pressing up on the screws, making them extra tight. Once I got the screws out, the new battery was in place and the laptop powered up in 5 minutes. The new battery appeared to be identical to the old battery (minus the swelling), and when I booted up, the battery was at 83% and finished charging quickly. So far I am quite pleased.

My HP Pavilion OEM battery life was insufficient for a 90-minute meeting. Worse yet, it would shut down without warning when the battery was low. The battery recalibrate process does not work, and OEM replacements are unavailable. This battery was easy to install. Now my laptop lasts for hours and gives ample warning time when I need to plug it in!

Install was made easier with supplied screw drivers. Totally perfect fit, so far it has charged and been working beautifully! Totally worth the price so far.UPDATE: I was getting ready to replace this laptop because of a drop in performance. Installing this battery has renewed its performance, it starts faster and responds much better. I now HIGHLY recommend you try a battery install before recycling your laptop due to performance issues. Very happy I used this company, came nicely packaged and on time.

I took a gamble with the compatibility and so glad I did! It works beautifully. Lightening fast charging. Was at 81% when I installed and is now at 99% in less than 10 minutes. I also now see again the battery status that shows that it is plugged in and charging - it had stopped doing that with the original battery. If this is your first time opening up an HP Pavilion laptop, know that there are an additional 4 little screws under the top rubber pads (feet). Thank goodness for YouTube! I am happy with purchase. Will let the battery charge overnight and then unplug to see how long the charge lasts. May follow-up on this review.

[Update: This battery lasted longer than 1/2 the life of my original HP battery, making it a better deal per dollar. The life span was shorter compared to the original battery by about an hour per charge , but not an issue for me since only needed my laptop a few hours away from an outlet at a time at most. Only downside is the first order of this battery failed quickly compared to the original HP version at the end of it's life. One day my laptop reported I needed a new one after using it a few hours as normal failed after attempting a charge (comparatively the HP original stopped charging above an hour in its 5-6 years of service). Still very happy with this and would recommend.]When my old, original HP official battery no longer held a few minute charge, and couldn't keep up with letting power pass through to my PC (I needed to disconnect the old battery to allow the PC to run unhindered using only the power cord) I knew I needed to get a new one. Only thing is being an older PC, I didn't want to invest too much into a new battery. This new battery did the trick.Overall, this battery holds a charge well, and I only occasionally disconnect to go into another room or away from an outlet. The battery life is comparatively a little shorter than when I first got my PC, but it does a great job keeping my PC going when I pull away from the power cord. This is a great price for a good battery. Fit my PC as expected. I see why this came up as an Amazon Choice for this product.Will update later if needed.
