Been fishing for 30 years. Had lots of tip ups: Frabill, HT, wood, metal, pop-ups, etc. This is the best performing and durable tip up I have tried. I pull off the stock line, put in backer braid [20 LB] to make the total length 400' and go fishing.Metal spool, good spring, durable flag, very durable frame. Buy them and enjoy the decades of use.

Not the best… Flag is made of cheap material and will likely break soon. Arctic fire by frabill is much better, and about the same price. No, I don't work for Frabill.

I bought four of these because the spool is heavy duty steel and it even comes with line! It has a sweet built-in ruler for measuring your monsters and is easy to use and great quality. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable well built tip up!!!
