I sew, but do not quilt. My daughter took a quilting class but did not finish the quilt. I decided to try to complete it for her as a surprise. Of course, I had no idea how to do that. This book gave me exactly the instructions that I needed, perfectly easy to follow and understand. Rose Smith and I together finished the quilt for her. She was delighted! Thank you, Rose!

Having just embarked on a quilting course this e-book gives in really clear steps of making a quilt with photos. It is the best help I could have had for trying out different designs, which are not complicated but have lovely results. I would recommend it highly to anyone who is quite new to the craft.

If you are in the habit of never leaving the house without your kindle, no need to print or write notes to select the fabric, construct the blocks, or finish the sampler quilt - whether you quilt 'n' go or machine-quilt. If you decide on a different pattern, the e-book can still serve as a portable reminder on how to finish a quilt. Two things I found odd, first, unlike other "how-to" books, Rose did not provide a link to her website or to her videos on YouTube (just web-search "rose smith quilting"). Second, she did not state the completed quilt size - in the Backing section, I found that the quilt top measures approx. 50.1/2" x 64.1/2", about the size of a lap quilt. I am a novice and prefer to have the completed size up front in the quilt description.

I'd been meaning to have a try at quilting for some time but found most books to be a bit daunting for a total beginner. However, this book gives clear instructions in simple steps towards achieving an end product which is more than the sum of its parts. Like me, you'll be rescuing the sewing machine from the back of the cupboard and fishing out those oddments of fabric from the bottom of the wardrobe!

I have followed Rose 's quilting adventures online for sometime and I knew this book would be as good as it is. I'm a new quilter and she breaks it all down into manageable chunks. Well written, easy to follow and good, clear photographs of each stage. What more could you want.

This is a truly lovely sampler quilt with plenty of description in the how-to. If you're not a fan of samplers, you could use any of the blocks for your own quilt. Thanks, Rose, for such a nice set of quilt blocks.

This book gives simple, easy to understand, step by step instructions for a sampler quilt. As ever Rose Smith has used pictures to back up wonderful clear instructions. Each of the blocks learnt can then be used for many other quilts. I would recommend this to anyone starting out to make a first quilted piece. I love Rose's straight forward explanations, no long words to confuse. Hope there will be more ebooks to follow!
