This is great for sewing projects, especially for hemming where I can iron my hem up by using the grid on the fabric. I also like how I can measure without grabbing a tape. Also love the built in apron compartment in the front and the fact that this is a pad and cover in one.

I have not put an iron to it yet, that being said, I love it. It is a heavy canvas type of material with padding sewn in.It was a bit fiddly putting on my ironing board, but once on it fits like a well made glove. You may need to do a bit of smoothing ( like any material ) but then Viola. The beat ironing board cover I've ever had (I'm 73).I even checked all the measurements and they were spot on. I'd never use it to cut material but I can get a pretty good Idea of my measurement.I'm happy...will update about how the surface holds up to hours of pressing quilting cotton with a very hot iron.

Very nice cover, with grids for a variety of measuring straight, angles, circles, etc. (really looking forward to using that feature)! Cover fabric is thick, almost canvas feeling, should be quite durable. Pad was a little thinner than my old two layer pad, so kept the better one of the old layers to put under the new pad & that makes it perfect. Was somewhat wrinkled out of package, but sprayed lightly with water, ironed with hot iron & wrinkles came right out. Used my own sheet corner elastic straps to snug it up, bungee / elastic around the perimeter of pad was not quite tight enough for my 53 inch length board. Side pocket is a great bonus - now I won't lose my water-spray bottle!

This is a great cover to straighten fabric as you iron, particularly flat pieces like tablecloths and napkins. This item is of particular interest for professional stylists who need a graph for technical ironing, when styling clothing for laydowns and tableware photo shoots. If you don't have access to a full ironing table, this could be the next best thing?! Not perfect but better than most other flowery, cheap and stupid covers, costing the same and with zero technical attributes. It's construction is heavy canvas and should hold up very well. It bites into the fabrics you're ironing and holds them straight, rather than slick and 'Teflony' covers that let your fabric slide all over. Good for sewing too, I'd imagine?! Also it is not skimpy in it's fit. It has an ample shape that forms well to the board, allowing for as much additional felt padding as you may desire. There's a nice attached pocket for accessories, also.

This ironing board cover is everything I expected. I have purchased these before at Joann's, but when it was time for a replacement, they had discontinued them. I was very happy to find this online. This cover is made of a heavy duck fabric, and has a good quality built in pad. it's easy to put on and very snug-fitting on a regular size ironing board. It's guaranteed to last three years, and it does. I am a weekly ironer, plus I do a lot of sewing and crafts, so my ironing board covers get heavy use. This cover will stand up to it for a long, long time. I first tried this one after using discount store covers which never lasted more than a month or two. I can easily get 3 years out of these covers even with heavy use.Two cons with this: one is the measuring feature. I can use it somewhat for estimating. but because the cover is stretched, steamed and heated, don't expect very accurate measurements; second is the odor when you first start using it, not pleasant, but it does dissipate quickly.Even with the cons. I still gave it a 5-star because it holds up so well.If you need something for heavy use, buy this - you won't be sorry.
