The price was not bad, you pay for what you get. It doesn't really ring the way I expected, in comparisons of other bells I've used. You have to ring the bell in a particular position and it does not sound authentic because the bell ball isn't really heavy enough to chime...it will do if a bell is really needed.

This is actually a solid little bell with a clear, yet delicate ring. You should be able to hear it through several rooms if you're using it as a call bell. I probably won't be, since nobody would show up if i rang it, but as a dedicated bell hoarder, i can tell you this is a lovely little bell. It's well molded and the red gives it a distinctive look. I just adore the sound on this one, too.
