I've bought these types of hour meters for small engines before - They're usually pretty much bulletproof. The one on my Honda is still going strong after 5 years.That said, I sure can't recommend this one. I ran my generator for 20 minutes & the meter showed 0.3 - So far so good. Ran it for 40 minutes more & it showed 1.0 hours - Great!Ran it for 1 hour more and now it shows 0.5 - Not good!!They should sell these in pairs and maybe if you had two, one of them would work!!I hate returning a $10 item, but then I didn't get much for my money ...

I recently replaced a push lawn mower that served me well for 19 years. Bad piston rings led to a scored cylinder and a busted connecting rod. It made more sense financially for me to replace it rather than spending the time and money to repair. I realized I had no idea how many hours that old mower engine had ran. I wanted a way to monitor hours on the new mower. I know most of the mower manufacturers have fancy hour meters that cost too much. I wanted something cheap, effective and affordable enough I wouldn't be upset if it fell off and got ran over. Enter this great buy!This hour meter was super simple to install. You just choose a mounting location and then wrap the wire around the spark plug wire just below the plug boot 4 or 5 times. You can tuck the beginning of the wire into your wire loops and secure the other end with a plastic zip wire tie. Be sure to make sure you have enough wire length for the planned mounting location. Also, leave enough slack so you can pull the spark plug boot off without straining the wire. Then you just clip the hour meter on the other end of the wire and mount it. You can cut off the extra wire length you don't need.To mount the hour meter you can use the included screws, zip ties, strong double sided tape or something similar. I was installing this on a new mower, so I didn't want to drill holes in it. I actually found a spot tucked in on the front of the engine and just mounted the hour meter with a big blob of hot glue. That's been working well so far for about 40 minutes of run time. If and when that method fails I'll probably zip tie it up somewhere.So far so good. I've only had this on for about 40 minutes of run time but it is working well. It tracks time reasonably accurately and doesn't seem to be affected by dust, water from the hose etc. I'm hoping I get at least a couple of seasons of use out of this, but I don't expect it too last forever. I'll update this review if I encounter any issues.

Habe den Betriebsstundenzähler per Brief bekommen, beim aufmachen und Kontrolle, ob alles da ist ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Reißverschlussband fehlt.Finde ich schade, weil s ja eigentlich dazu gehört...Naja, wir haben noch etwas zufällig da gehabt.
