Growing up in the 90s, having an intercom system in your house was the peak of cool. I liked the idea of having a quick way to reach my daughters across the house in their "pre-phone" years. It was very easy to set up...my 10 year old set ours up. You program each intercom to number. That is the # you press on the other boxes to reach this one. They function great. The only problem I have...and the reason we will likely not be using these...is because it is not push to talk, and there is no option for push to talk. If my daughter wants to reach me, I have to answer the call. I have to get up and walk across the living room to answer the call. Also if I want to reach my daughter, she has to stop and answer the call. I simply want to be able to push the button and say "dinner's ready" without having to wait on her to answer. Or if she needs me, it would be much more convenient if she could just hit the talk button and say "Dad I need help with my homework"...but instead she has to call me....I have to get up and answer. Like I said, it works great for what it is, but is missing the primary feature I was looking for.

These are just a step above a walkie talkie. They can single out which unit they go to, which is nice, but if I use it to talk to both other speakers, they cannot talk back without calling it. It is not so much a press to talk, but a press to call for two way communication. The wire for power mounts at the top, so if you wanted to have it wall mounted, it makes for messy cord organization.

Speaking between systems is poor at best. Total waste of money.
