These retainers are well formed with robust clips securing your wire on base plate. I appreciate their thinner base design, allowing for easier install where soffit and fascia overlap which adds support when suspending string lights. Each clip has a removable film over the factory applied adhesive layer that makes placement a breeze. I couldn't find a single thing not to like, especially factoring in the number of clips I received at a very fair price. Side note - Your clips will better stay where you place them when the ambient temperature is above 50 degrees F with the intended surface properly cleaned / degreased and dry.

The surface must be spotlessly clean and completely flat. So for most outdoor surfaces they do not stick all that well. Fine inside on glass, very smooth tile and so on. They will take the paint (and part of the surface) off of stuff like drywall. On outdoor fence we ended up putting thumbtacks through the plastic backing to help them stay up. Several had the backing off when they arrived.

These clear clips are just what my cords need to stay where I want the cord ends to be when they're not being used, such a cell phone chargers. The clips are made of a sturdy acrylic so they will stay strong for a long time, but they are relaxed enough to let my cords in and out of them very easily. You will want to note that although the clips are in sets of two clips together, you can easily cut them apart with scissors (see attached review for image of one clip by itself on my night stand).

I don't know how to rate these based on outdoor usage because I got these for indoors. I have digital picture frames that all require plugs, except that there are no outlets in the hall. So I get to run extension cords from inside the spare room to the hall. To make the cord management less visible and messy, I got these to be able to pin down the cords to the wall. The heavy duty part of this is somewhat important as the cords are not thin, lightweight light cords. We'll see how these hold up but so far, so good.

These clips are strong enough to hold heavy duty patio string lights or lighter Christmas lights and they hold up in all seasons. I have used them in the very cold winter weather as well as hot summers and none have fallen down without me having to pull them down. Their adhesion is very good on a variety of surfaces. I mainly use them on vinyl and metal surfaces and it stick very well on both. So easy to install too!

We have had outdoor light hangers that look just like this before (in two different sizes) and I thought these would be pretty much the same, but so far they're not. I opened the package to look at them and several were not cut apart properly and they not only were stuck together, but they ripped the backing off the other hangar so we're already down by quite a few before ever getting to test this brand.We were going to use these to put up our spring and summer lights, but I think we need to test some before commiting to them due to the issues from the start.The other brand we had before didn't have any stuck together in either big box of two different sizes and have stayed up since November through multiple major ice and snow storms, as well as frigid weather and tons of rain.If these don't test well I'd rather purchase the other brand than spend our time adding lights for other holidays just for them to fall down and waste our time and effort.I can't give them a good value for the money as multiple were already damaged and unusable upon arrival. Apparently, their quality control is not as good as the other brand we've used twice.That's REALLY disappointing!
