Smaller humidifier was unable to keep my upstairs bedroom at 35% humidity. This humidifier has no problem doing this during the cold winter months of Minnesota. Also it holds alot of water which makes it less work. Also easy to fill and carry tank. Filters are also easy to change and affordable.

Excellent design that takes up minimal floor space. Really quiet in low fan setting and moderately quiet in medium setting. Humidifies the entire upstairs of my home (about 900 square feet of upstairs space. Easy set up and easy to refill the water. But the one minor issue is it keeps turning on and off every few seconds when it reaches the humidity setting. On low fan setting I don't notice though because it's so quiet.

I can’t believe how quiet it isIt is very easy to fill and use. It’s early to tell yet if it is going to help my hair, but since the air is now quite moist, I’m sure it will help my hair and skin and nails, etc..

Been using this style of Honeywell humidifier for about 5 years. The first one was square and developed a leak so Honeywell sent me a new one (no charge) which was the next generation and was cylindrical. I lost the one last year in a fire so this is the latest one and it is the best so far. Filters are much easier to change, electronic controls, easier to clean. It has only one filter compared to previous models. Time will tell.

I purchased this to increase the humidity in a room where I grow and overwinter outdoor plants. I opted for an evaporative humidifier because I knew I would be using regular tap water and I did not want the white dust the ultrasonic humidifiers produce from the minerals in tap water. I also wanted a unit where I could set the desired humidity level and not worry about manually cycling it on and off. Last I wanted a unit with a little bit of style. The unit has a three-speed fan. I use it on the highest setting even though that is the loudest setting. Being a fan, it's a white noise that I can tune out when reading. It's about as loud as our microwave. With the fan set to high the unit cycles on and off more frequently. When set to low it is whisper quiet and runs for a very long time which makes sense since there is less airflow. (Move the unit around to different spots in your room to find the area with the best airflow. Burying it in a corner, behind a door, or under a table isn't the best choice. )The humidistat seems reasonably accurate for a consumer product, about +/- 2% from what I can tell. I have it set for 50% humidity. It cycles on about 3% RH below the set-point and clicks off exactly at the set-point.Depending upon the outside humidity and how long our home furnace runs, I need to refill it every day with about one gallon of water. I found removing the water container an inconvenience. Not because it's difficult to get in and out of the unit, but because it doesn't fit in my sink easily to refill. The design of the humidifier does not allow you to invert a refilling container over the opening. After experimenting with a few different containers I settled on a plastic one-gallon (well rinsed) milk jug. It struck a good balance between quantity, convenience, and ease of pouring. I can get all but two cups poured in one refill.Despite using tap water (no water softener) the wicking filter still lasted for a month before I noticed a decrease in the evaporation efficiency. The tower is large and bulky to clean. I don't clean it as recommended. I do throw a couple of ounces of white vinegar in the water every week to make the internal environment less mold and bacteria friendly. White vinegar is less harsh than bleach. So far. I'm pleased. All it needs to do now is last a few years and I'll be euphoric!

I am having less headaches since I purchase this humidifier....It is easy to clean and is not noisy when I am running it on low. I like the automatic shut off when it reaches the desired humidity level. I only gave it four stars because I am not sure if the hygrometer on the machine gives out the actual accurate humidity. I purchase separate ones (as recommended) but returned them as they were too hard to calibrate using the salt test. I just set the machine on what I feel to be comfortable in the room and I have no issues. I intend to use it for winter months only. Sturdy machine and sleek looking. Does not take up a lot of space on my floor, shuts off when it is supposed to.

Update 2-24: I still love the humidifier but wanted to mention that I took some advice to flip the filter from top to bottom each time you fill it, and frankly I think that is a bad idea because it degrades the filter in the process. It went from working great to not working well at all because when you open the thing up and turn the filter it compresses it somewhat and then it leaves spaces....so from now on I will just leave the filter as is, and replace it as needed. If they wanted you to flip the filter each time they should make the thing you put it in and out of the same on the top and the bottom so you would not have to remove it from the holder. So I had to run out yesterday to buy a new filter after only 9 days. If this is typical then it's ridiculous. Plus I bought one from target for $10 which is the lowest price available. And $10 for a paper filter that probably costs $1 to make is ridiculous. I am going to look into if I can buy some of the cut to size filter materials out there and come back here to let you know if that works. What someone needs to come up with is a cloth wicking filter sponge thing that you can put in the washer and wash and then re-use it. If someone could do that, they would be rich!I love this humidifier. I had been watching it for awhile wanting one but waiting for the price to come down a bit. I ended up getting it for around $69 and for the price this thing is great.I really did not look at the size and was suprised that it was bigger than what I was expecting. Mine holds nearly 2 gallons when I fill it from dry. I love carrying the water and pouring it in rather than having to remove the reservoir each time. Also some people said it leaked so honestly I think once it's seated properly just best to leave it there.I have it upstairs in the master bedroom which is pretty big, and it's doing a great job compared to the smaller one I had in there. It completely takes care of the moisture in the room and is now perfect where before I was running two smaller humidifiers to get the job done.I have not had to change the filter yet but I love how easy this one is to change. I do not have to take the whole thing apart to change the filter. Just slide the filter out from the back and put a new one in and slide it back in.One of the best things is how quiet this is. Even on high it's manageable and puts out a lot of moisture. We have it set on medium and it does the job and we can hardly hear it. I love that you can set the humidity level. We just keep it set to high otherwise its turning on and off constantly. The humidity is always going to register higher right by the unit so for us High works best. I think it also has some sort of timer which I am sure would be nice for some people but we leave ours on.The set up was super easy and sort of self explanatory. I did remove the little plastic thing from the top of the tank that you pour water through. I found it just causes splashing when filling and could not see the value of keeping it in place.Another nice thing is the small footprint. This could probably keep a small apartment comfortable, or down to a smaller room. Using the settings it really could be great in a variety of sized spaces. On medium I fill it once a day if things are super dry. The water lasts longer if there is natural moisture in the air.I think we will get one ore more of these to replace some older humidifiers, I just love it so much! Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks
