When installing a new heat pump to replace my central heating as well as cooling I didn’t have to pull new thermostat wiring.My home is now heated and cooled with a wireless system that is more responsive as I was able to mount the new thermostat in a location that is not in a hallway downstairs. Before I had a home that was too warm upstairs in winter and too cold in summer.

Our AC guy installed this with a portable thermostat as our last thermostat was literally in the other HVAC zone making temp regulation a disaster. This change fixed the problem and temp regulation has been amazing!

Too many times wireless remotes fail to reconnect automatically. Too often four-hour R/T and session with professional support. Customer support is clueless. Both close on weekends. Figure on worst case 60 hours downtime.I have resolved to pull wire somehow.

I bought this item and had difficulty figuring out how to wire it to my natural gas fireplace - which is capable of taking a thermostat. I called Honeywell Tech Support and they refused to help me, saying that this item is a "trade" item and not a retail item, and they only provide tech support for retail items. By "trade" item they meant that it is sold to building contractors (who, presumably, have electricians on staff). Of course, the fact that Honeywell themselves recommended this item to me for my heating needs and that it is sold on places like Amazon which are frequented by retail consumers seems to have escaped Honeywell.If you buy this thermostat and have any technical difficulty wiring it in, you're on your own.

Not sure if the issue is with Honeywell or the shipper, but the first unit arrived dead. Second unit was shipped out and something was loose in the casing - rattling around. Otherwise, it installed and works fine,
