The size works well for a 5 year old, but beware of the quantity. The chair back had some sticky gunk that only partially came off after rubbing aggressively with a moist wipe. The cork board is a joke and started peeling off itself right away. We finally gave up and just took it off but not sure what to do what that part if the desk now. For the price and quality, I would not purchase again.

I bought this for my six-year-old granddaughter as a Christmas present. It wasn’t too bad to put together most everything was labeled and she absolutely loves this desk. She uses it for her jewelry, make up and her arts and crafts.The only thing that I think was cheaply done on this desk was the cupboard door latch is plastic. Why use Plastic pieces is beyond me so that’s about the only thing I see giving out. And the handle that goes to it I had to break down a toothpick and wood glue so that the handle would actually screw on and stay on.

It was a little difficult getting together for my husband, but we’re in our 80s so that’s easy to understand. Once it was together, it’s very nice very sturdy and my granddaughter loves it.

I bought this for my 6 year old to have a "big girl" desk/working area. Very easy to assemble, but it does take a little bit of time. It is bigger than I expected,has much storage for a 6 year old and her things,and it is very sturdy. Would recommend to anyone.
