The key functions as it should in my 2018 Honda Goldwing after I had it but to match my fob emergency key. My locksmith indicated that it is merely a standard Honda automotive key which can be purchased for less than the motorcycle part number. You may wish to just look for the corresponding auto key blank to save a few bucks.

It's a genuine Honda key blank... I bought a used bike with one key. I ordered two blanks and rode the bike to my local hardware store. The clerk cut and polished the first key - I checked it on the bike. For $4 additional to these blanks - I have 3 working keys.The dealer (45 minutes away) wanted $25 each...

The key blank was able to be cut at the local hardware store and saved me a ton of money over ordering an OEM key from the dealer. It fits just fine.

This was a great buy, my 2006 1000 CBR has a spare key now, the key tech told me that, that was a sound quality key stud.. Thanks Honda!!
