After quite a bit of searching online, I stumbled upon this well constructed island, at a great price, with a nice Parisian feel to it!I liked how you could access from all sides and the reviews were so good. I particularly liked the look of the upper storage cubby/areas.The wood top as many people have stated does have a bit of a caramel tone to it-This looks great with my black cabinets and freshly refinished floors. Our floors are natural so the contrast is wonderful, if your wood floors have turned kind of orange overtime it may not work-otherwise, I highly recommend.I made one call to customer service during assembly -My call was answered immediately and they are so helpful!

Really nice island, especially for the price! I would only point out two potential problems. First, the wooden top is a different color (more reddish) and less knotty than the one pictured. I think it is actually a better quality than the one in the picture on the website, but some people might be looking for a more rustic appearance.The second potential problem you should watch out for is that in our box there was a completely extra second set of some of the hardware, which did create some confusion as we thought we had done something incorrectly when we discovered the extras. Just be sure to take your time to lay out your hardware and check all that before you begin assembling the island.Overall, we are happy with this purchase!

This kitchen island is a great value for the money. Better than great, it's exactly what I wanted. It's solid metal, heavy duty, and a nicely finished solid wood top. Every kitchen needs it, the size, the metal legs (which are plenty scratch resistant. Believe me, I tried) and how easily it went together.I have one word of advice, fasten the wooden top to the metal frame tightly when assembling that. But when you get to the legs and shelves, assemble EVERYTHING loosely. After you get the last bolt started into the last threaded piece on the leg, then go around it a couple times, just gradually snugging everything up.I am seriously so happy with this thing. Great for baking, great as a sideboard for buffet style meals. And opens up my counter because it's the new home for a couple large bowls and the microwave.It! Is! Great! I'm sorry I waited to buy it, because it's useful right now!

Got this island today and was able to set it up with one other person in about 45 minutes. Listen to the reviews and directions when it says don't tighten the screws all the way..it will surely help when putting the first shelve on as you have to adjust the four supports to make it fit...don't tighten the support bars all the way until shelve is installed. Instructions are clear and simple .. a matter of screwing in the screws. Came earlier than expected and was packaged well. (2 Boxes) This a is beautiful high quality table/island that I highly recommend. Love it! (Even though it say butcher block, it is not for cutting etc.)

I am not sure why anyone would not like this Island. Mine showed up in two boxes. The table in one and the table top (I got the butcher block) in a second one. They were both packaged really well. It took me and my son about 1/2 hour to assemble it. We gave ourselves plenty of space and read through instructions first. The first thing noted in the instructions is NOT to tighten the screws any more than halfway until the table is completely together. I am assuming those who had alignment problems is because they tightened screws along the way. It was very easy to go back and tighten them all after putting the island together. It is very sturdy and looks great. The top is solid wood. I think if you cut directly on it the marks would def show, but this is true of butcher blocks in general. I always use cutting boards. I did leave a drink on it without a coaster and there was plenty of condensation. It didn't leave a mark at all. I do highly recommend this island. It gave me the added counter space I needed and it was the best option for matching up with my countertops which I treated w/rustoleum counter top product . Which is a great product too if your not afraid of a labor intensive project. I have 3 sons to help w/that. :-)
