While the picture shows a normal orange cap I got a smaller blue one that doesn’t fit on my 5gal or 6.5gal carboys. Also if your carboy rim isn’t stupidly thin the metal tube will press against the side and try to create a gap between the carboy and cap. Tried putting the tube in a normal cap, very hard to get it in, and it still pries up on the cap.Was looking forward to this coming since the bung that came with my other thermowell barely fits in the opening.

I use this in conjunction with my Anvil thermostat and carboy heating pad, works great and it's a very economical setup.
