I bought this to go with my half umbrella. I filled it with water and it’s very sturdy. It’s the best base that I have ever bought. It supports the umbrella in very strong thunderstorm.I highly recommend this base

We live in the desert and it can get breezy. This just doesn’t hold up well. Our half-umbrella keeps fall over whether it’s open or closed. Will return.

First of all don't order this if you have a full size umbrella its obvious it is made for a 1/2 umbrella, It looks good and of decent quality. It also obvious you will need to lower the umbrella during strong winds.For the negative-------The tube that holds the umbrella pole does not fit tight and can wobble and spin and will lean towards the 1/2 umbrella side. (As a solution I'm thinking I may epoxy or gorilla glue the tube into the base.When you receive it you will think its missing the bottom screw, but its not missing, its screwed into the bottom of the tube and you need to remove it before installation.

Wanted an umbrella that can fit next to the house and also inside the screen so I got a half umbrella and this base. It works as long as the half of the umbrella is on the same side as the half of the base, obviously. the umbrella does sometimes spin so if it spins 180 over the pool, the base is inclined to tip that way too so I have to really tighten it down. It does work though and it’s a great space saver!

The sleeve/tube that the umbrella pole fits into cannot be secured into the base. There is a plate that screws into the tube and that tube simply slides into the hole of the base without it being secured to the actual base (other than the weight of the base sitting on it). This implies that the umbrella will spin with the slightest wind. I addressed this defect by having a plate welded to the base to prevent it from spinning as seen in the picture. I would not purchase this product until the manufacturer addresses this defect on their own (unless you have a round umbrella :).
