The hat is as described, but is thinner than I expected. Will see if sufficient during dog walks in Wisconsin winters.

I like almost everything about this hat. I was looking for something just like this that still has a brim but is made for colder weather. Where I live it is almost always sunny, even in the middle of winter when it's below freezing so I used to wear a stocking cap over my baseball hat and it worked but wasn't the best. This is a big improvement!My head measures 22" and the hat fits me good, I would say if your head is much bigger (like around 23") it might get too tight. If your head is much smaller it may still be okay since it can be tightened but I don't love how it tightens. I think the cord comes up too high in back and if I tighten the hat it wants to slip up on my head. If the cord was about an inch lower it would hold tighter.I did not care for the chin strap and cut it off, it looks great and can't tell it was even there.The ear flaps are great and stay in place for the most part. Sometimes they have a tendency to roll up a little but I found that it happens less the longer that I wear it.Overall I'm happy with it.

I got this cap to use this winter while using the snowblower, etc. I am very happy with the quality! It's a well-made hat that incorporates the "trapper hat" ear flaps nicely without looking like something out of the arctic tundra. It fits closely to the head like a regular baseball cap and the lower portion even has elastic to keep it taut across the back so wind can't leak in. I have thick hair and it still fits well and stays secure on my head. It works well in the cold but also doesn't overheat if I keep wearing it indoors. The reflective details on the brim and the rear are a nice safety touch.The back of the cap looks a bit busy with the elastic, drawstring, and reflective patch, but otherwise the cap is pretty stylish. The snap closure and the chin strap are a bit flimsy, but the ears stay down well without buckling the snap.

This hat is well designed and great for rainy or windy winters! Construction feels high quality, as do the materials used. The exterior shell has good water resistance and water beads up on contact. It also does a great job keeping the wind out. The inside lining is very warm.Fit is excellent on my medium adult male head. The earflaps stay smoothly against the sides of the head and don't poof out, so it's about as stylish as you can get for this type of hat. The flush ear flaps also keeps the wind out - nice design.

I have a big head and this fits well. It is quite comfortable as well because it is fleece lined. The ear flaps can be folded down or up and there is a little quick disconnect so you can cinch it around your chin. It's fairly thin so I would say it's good for 20 deg F and above. I'm happy with it and wear it a lot.

Flaps up this looks quite military, with a squared-off top rather than a dome look. I can see using it flaps up when I feel too warmly dressed after exertion in winter. Flaps down this looks like what it is--a nice warm over-the-ears baseball cap for winter chores and outdoor adventures. It has a little plastic clasp to fasten it under the chin when worn with the flaps down in gale force winds. There is also an adjustment strap for tightening the cap when worn flaps down. This is an adaptable cap that I like the look and feel of. The plush inside lines the whole interior of the cap, from the top right down through the ear flaps.
