The first step

Take out the parts as shown in the picture, separate them with your fingers, and keep the parts marked by the arrows in the picture.

The Second step

Tear off the circle gasket reserved in the previous step, and stick the sticky side to the button hole on the back of the touch screen. Please align and paste as much as possible.

The third step

Take out the buttons in the tool kit, as shown in the figure.

The fourth step

Put the back of the button up, and then put it into the button hole, as shown in the figure.

The fifth step

Take out the parts (waterproof ring) as shown in the figure, and tear off the protective film.

The sixth step

Paste the sticky side on the button hole, please pay attention to calibration. Through this step, the waterproof ring can initially fix the button cable on the touch screen, as indicated by the arrow.

The seventh step

Take out the part (horns) as shown in the picture. The two sides of the part are sticky.

The eighth step

Paste the sticky side of the part on the key hole of the touch screen, and the center of the part is aligned with the center of the key hole, and the key change is installed.

At this point, you can test and press the button to see if the button can be pressed normally. If there is no response when pressing, please check whether the installation of all parts is fully calibrated.

Kindly Note:

By replacing the home button assembly, you will permanently lose the Fingerprint Touch ID function. Basically this item is for decoration only, touch ID and click function will not work. The Touch ID functionality will NOT work and cannot be restored because it is unique pairing with each device. For security reason, only the original home button touch sensor will work for your ipad.

You wind up losing the finger print functionality if you don't swap a few other things over. If this switch works great and it's very reasonably priced. The finger print sensor isn't a deal breaker for me anyway so I didn't bother switching out additional parts.

I would not recommend this product. The home button feels sunken in now. My review is based solely on that.Also wish I took to someone with a professional micro soldering station that could move the thumb print chip over..

I installed the home button with no problems. It works as a normal home button should minus the Touch ID feature, which is to be expected with any replacement. It came with all the parts listed and looks good installed.
