Hold It Mate Fixed Planter Bracket kits are idea for plastic/resin rectangular planter boxes. Follow our guide for what works best for your planter box! Measure the bottom of your box, front to back - this kit fits up to 6 3/4" on the bottom. Most boxes are fluted, so wider at the top and narrow at the bottom. As the box sits on the brackets, the bottom measurement is the important - followed by the overall length of the box! We have a size to fit MOST planters!
Easy Install - Please Follow !
Please Measure your Spindles!
- 1/2" - Wrought Iron
- 3/4" - Aluminum - Round or Square
- 1"- 1 1/4" - Vinyl, PVC, Trex
- 1 1/4" - 1 3/4" - Wood
Choose Carefully!
Each kit comes with (2) sets of Three Bolts.
Recessed Hole
Place the sleeve nut into the recessed hole, and connect the right length bolt to the sleeve nut.
Prep Work for Perfect Install
Spin the bolt into the sleeve nut just enough to hold it - this will allow more space to connect to the spindles.
Connect the two mounts
Place the round end of the bolt through the round key slot of the opposing mount - goes in at a slight angle, not straight in
Vertically Through Spindles
Tip the 6" mounts vertically towards the end of the long mounting rail - this will allow you to push the back mounts to the other side of the spindles
Tighten One End at a time
Tighten one side not quite tight, just enough to hold on the spindles, then snug up the other side. Once level, tighten both nuts with Allen Wrench
Simply add Brackets to the mount - space properly to hold the box you are placing on it!
Hold It Mate 16" Planter Box Bracket Kit
The 16" long planter bracket kit will hold MOST boxes - it is very strong and durable, holding up to a 30" planter box with ease. Just make sure the bottom measurement of your box is under 6 3/4' front to back measurement.
Hold It Mate 24" Planter Box Bracket Kit
The 24" planter box bracket kit will hold boxes up to 36" wide with a bottom of 6 3/4" wide front to back measurement. NOT the top measurement as most are tapered.

This was awkward to install facing inward. I dropped a support bracket and damaged a car beneath my balcony.🙄 I learned to tape the hole at the end so the bracket screw wouldn't wiggle out and fall again. Once installed, I realized the support is too long for my particular window box. Maybe I will get a deeper depth box at some time and it will work better. It's pricey, but yes, I too think it is sturdy. It does what it is intended to do and it doesn't block my beautiful view.

I’ve been looking for something for my patio boxes for a while. I wanted something that didn’t end up with the boxes tilted at an angle as some over the rail holders are prone to. This is fantastic.I bought one to try it out & will be buying a couple more.

These so far feel like very solid planter box mounts. I like how they're also fairly easy to move and don't need to be drilled into my railings. One issue I have is one of the products I recieved was clearly a return as it was shipped loose in a large box with no instructions and one of the end caps for the metal bars was clearly broken. Other than that, these seem great.

I bought a set of two so I could place flowers on my stair landing outside my front door. These are AMAZING! They hold the boxes well and super easy to assemble. Not too bulky either.

I was looking for a product to hang my hose on our deck railing that would not require drilling into the railing. Saw this product and imagined it would do the trick as it gets fastened to the railing spokes, not the railing top. My only hesitation when ordering this was the many negative contents that there were no instructions included. First, just looking at the product's picture is all the instructions that are needed to put together the 4 parts. More importantly, while there were no written instructions included in the delivery box, the 4-step INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEARLY STATED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. Installed this product in less than 10 minutes.

I'm using these with self-watering window boxes from Gardener's Supply, which can get quite heavy whenever it rains. These brackets are high quality, easy to install, and don't show any sign of bending under a (very rainy) season's worth of use.

I previously had the overhanging railing baskets and they never sat straight and leaned over too much (couldnt keep the brackets straight) AND they scraped up the top fo the railing quite a bit (have to repaint bc of it. With this product, it strongly clamps around the spokes of your railing and has attachable arms that have a flat surface that ensures that your planter stays relatively flat. You can choose the distance between the arms to fit multiple-sized planters. Simple to install and you can flip the planter to sit on be either side of your railing if you wanted to. Worth the cost and no issues with it falling down or causing any damage to the railing.
