Given the cheap plastic components and how much flex and variance there is in the total assembly, it didn't strike me as either accurate or worth the price. I returned it.

In 2021, I purchased this stadiometer and thought the measurements were accurate. However, at my doctors office the height measurements were lower which led me to suspect I purchased an inaccurate stadiometer.This month (August 2023) I purchased a wall mounted stadiometer from Amazon, which has a ruler that reaches to the floor. The one I bought in 2021, does not have a ruler that reaches to the floor.Sure enough the detector stadiometer I purchased this month provides accurate measurements. Same as at my doctors office.I estimate the Portstad Portable Stadiometer I purchased in 2021, is off by 3/4 to 1 inch. I'm shorter by that much.A wall mounted stadiometer is screwed into the wall and the ruler reaches to the floor.To receive accurate measurements you'll need to purchase a wall mounted stadiometer. Assembly is quick and measurements accurate.Visit Amazon pages with wall mounted stadiometers to investigate wall mounted stadiometers. They're made of aluminum or iron and accurate. Use "wall mounted stadiometer" while searching. Make certain the ruler reaches to the floor.
