Make hanging drywall a breeze. Faster and wayyy more accurate than a dimple bit on a drill. If you value your time you'll buy one.

Ease of loading and screw progression was the best part. Several misses on most strips but not a big thing.

Tool has an attachment to be used as regular drywall gun, but it does not fit (manufacturing mistake). The drill bit is Philips, only. Robertson # 2 AND # 3 can be purchased through Amazon.com and Amazon.ca (very expensive); but both DO NOT fit the tool, though it is made for it. The tool does NOT take other drill bits (though 7 inch long, like Milwaukee). Just useless. Service by Hitachi is useless and not helpful.

used it often, screw drills like this can't be compared to standard drills used as screw drivers. Drive a screw in a second. I can't wait to do some a deck with one of these. I used this for drywall to easily drill with one hand.

This is my first Hitachi tool but won't, {God willing}, be my last. Admittedly, I've only owned this tool for a very short time and cannot attest to it's durability, but it functions perfectly. It looks very "old school" and lacks the modern ray gun appearance or the Senco and Rigid models that incorporate the contoured screw guides that sweep around the pistol grip, but this gun has almost infinite adjustments and can be set to any variation in depth or angle desired. The tool itself aside, the customer service is wonderful. I phoned Hitachi, only a few miles up the road from me, with a few questions regarding the, {for me}, confusing array of screw bits available for these guns. The phone was answered by a real person who Connected me to an older guy named "Jack" in tech support who couldn't answer my questions but actually took the time to research the information that I needed while I remained on the phone. I've owned practically every brand power tool that you can name and most calls to the manufacturers, if you can even make one, results in leaving a voice mail message that is never returned or an email that is seldom answered. This level of customer service goes a long way with me.

Having used both the Senco and Hitachi models, Hitachi is the clear winner here. Neither is pleasant in corners, but the Hitachi is less unpleasant. The Hitachi also is much less likely to jam due to drywall dust build up. The long cord is a nice touch also. If you're hanging drywall, this is the biggest timesaver you can get.

THESE ARE "REFURB" UNITS...BUT THEY ARE NOT REFURBED!! Didn't get a chance to use it until the return window had passed by 3 days. Transmission just grinds horribly on 80% of the screws. So irritated. Hanging lids by myself I needed this to work. Now I will be 3 days behind on my job and out 120 bucks!

I received a factory refurbished unit in a bag with an attachment that didn't fit the drill. No where does it say refurbished in the description. The thing didn't make it past the first screw load before it would not drive screws anymore. Returning.

If you're doing a drywall project and place any value on time then you need a collated driver. Especially helpful on ceilings. This paid for itself in hours saved on the first day of use. I don't have any real attachment to Hitachi versus Senco -I have a couple other Hitachi tools that have been real workhorses. This worked flawlessly (we were using Senco 2" screws for the project). This comes with a standard chuck that you can install in place of the driver system to use this as a standard power drill.
