I bought this not to use as a salt lick but to cut in 1 1/2 inch sections to use as weights in my fermenting jars. The salt dissolves slowly while my fermented vegetables use the salt as needed and weigh them down at the same time. It is excellent for this purpose. But I just can’t believe how well it works.
