fantastic gun. this thing is a heavy duty beast. will last for years even if used every day. watch that kilted guy on youtube, for tips on spraying with this type of gun and finish. very easy to use, even a fifth grader can do it. keep in mind that you need a lot of compressed air at 70psi.

Renovated our home office and needed to texture the drywall ceiling and walls. We wanted an orange peel texture to hide some of the imperfections. This gun works well for that purpose. Make sure that you test spray before actually spraying the walls. Easy to use once you get the right settings. Make sure that the viscosity of the mix is consistent and that you have a decent size compressor. The larger the compressor, the better. We were satisfied with the results.

Worked really great and was able to get a good texture match after it was dialed in. Would recommend for the price.

This thing gave way better results than the texture spray cans or paint additives.I was able to get a fine orange peel texture to match existing drywall texture on my first attempt. Here's my recipe that was mostly gained from reading other reviews here:1. Tightened down the hopper clamp really tight, with a wrench, not just a screwdriver. No leaks and the hopper was stable enough to not worry about it falling off.2. Used pre-mixed joint compound and added water and mix with drill until it was slightly thinner than pancake batter. I didn't have any clogs or clumps.3. 45 psi compressor pressure, and a small pancake compressor worked fine but I turned off the air valve on the sprayer periodically to let the compressor maintain enough pressure4. Used the smallest nozzle size5. Practiced on the masked-off areas of the wall to figure out the right amount of trigger pull and movement speed to match the existing texture. A flashlight aimed parallel to the wall helped to see the texture quality more easily.

I'm retexturing 5 rooms in our house. This is well worth the price vs what you see at your local hardware/supply store without saying any big national retail stores. It's easy to clean and well-built.

Patching walls and replacing corner beads as a part of my home renovation. This texture gun works great for putting down a medium orange peel texture on this project. As others have mentioned, the hopper isn’t super secure, but it stays in-place when I use a hex wrench on the hose clamp that holds it he hopper on the gun.

I bought this for a bathroom renovation.....literally one wall that's 9 foot tall by about 15 long. This worked great. I used the Hobart premixed texture that came in ~ 1 gallon size. You could use sheetrock mud and save some money but I was looking for speed more than anything. The spray gun works really well but there are a few things to note. It has a gate valve at the handle that puzzled me since, one would assume, the trigger controls the flow of everything. It doesn't. The trigger only controls the flow of the texture/mud. If the gate valve is open and it must be for the whole contraption to work, the air is constantly flowing out the center hole of the sprayer end. When you pull the trigger, that moves the internals backwards allowing the mud to flow in, get picked up by the air, and sprayed at the wall. If your air compressors is small, it'll exhaust your air supply very quickly. I would spray a bit, turn the valve off, let it build pressure, then get back at it.You can adjust the size of the "chunks" coming out of the gun a couple of ways....change out the tip or back the internals out a bit using the knob on the back of the spray gun. I was able to fine tune the smallest tip easily and not have to change it out to a larger tip. The larger tips must be chunking pecan sized globs of texture is all I can think......way to large for me so I'm glad I didn't use them.Well worth the money. The cans of texture at Lowe's are almost as much as I paid for this gun. Defintely worth it if you'll be using this 2 or more times much less if you use it often. I can't imagine this thing breaking. It's well made and simple. Only complaint is the hopper could probably be bigger but then you'd have a lot of weight to control so maybe that's a good thing.

I purchased the item because I needed a way to texture a ceiling in the area where I had replaced about 20 square feet of drywall. I had used the CGC Synko Lite Line All Purpose Drywall Compound (premixed) so that the mud was the consistency of mayonaise. I only need the ceiling speckled and it did the trick.I learnt that I need to keep the mud reservoir more full because when you spray the ceiling, the spray gun needs to be angled. I suppose an improvement to the design would be to have an angled nozzle or mud reservoir for that purpose. Cleaning of the spray gun is pretty straight forward as the mud I was using could be rinsed out with tap water and a spray hose.Outside of that, worked great and seems to be least inexpensive option for texturing as long as you have an air compressor.

solo le faltaría que le agregaran una unión (cople) de 45° entre la pistola y tolva para poner textura en los techos y así no se salga la mezcla de la tolva.

First the good points:Inexpensive, it works, and the gun is fairly easy to clean. The bad points:Useless instructions, useless hopper clamp, No air control lever (was shown in picture), no 1/4 inch air hose adapter.Since there are limited instructions, I had to take the gun apart to figure out what the adjustment knob on the rear was for. It is just the spring tension adjustment for the texture opening. There is a hopper clamp at the base that is useless because the hopper plastic is hard and solid. The gun has an O-ring at the hopper junction that does most of the work. If you fill the hopper, you need to hold the hopper. Otherwise it will slip off the O-ring. I show up at a work site with my gun still in the box only to find out the gun does not have an air hose connection. No problem, I'll just take one off a nail gun. Wrong. The texture gun takes a female thread and the nail gun are male. Needed a trip to the store and a $1.50 part. I had a small pancake air compressor at the site. It works but you have to make lots of stops to let the air pressure catch up. Since there is no air control off lever on the gun, you have to disconnect the air hose. I haven't tried the gun with my bigger compressor. I used the small 4 mm nozzle and had mostly medium to large orange peel. Would like to get a smaller nozzle.
