I needed three different sizes of star lock washers to secure the Trim Fin to my boat’s outdrive. I cannot over-torque the bolt because it is Aluminium. The top washer is an outside teeth, and below there are two different diameters of inside teeth. So basically the grip is on three surfaces. I haven’t tested the Trim Fin at the lake yet, but it does look strong. The Trim Fin grip has to be strong because this is what neutralizes the steering torques of the clockwise-rotating propeller! To select my three washers it took me half an hour of trial and error, so having the convenience of many sizes to choose from made the task possible.

I use these washers on the (3) bolts used to connect the guitar neck onto the body of my Taylor guitar.I discovered that fluctuations in humidity eventually cause the bolts to loosen, which did occur.Some ppl have expressed concern that this product is ineffective because the teeth are rounded and not sharp. So I did some research via Google on how these function. I learned that it's the constant "spring action" from the teeth that prevent loosening, not sharp teeth. That makes sense to me.

Except for it being a tight fit against the threads while securing what I planned before applying the nuts. They worked great. I have no problem thinking and feeling that was was secured will come undone.
