Ho acquistato questo regolatore per regolare la velocità di motori a spazzole e non, come motori per ventole di raffreddamento e trapani. Lavora bene e non scalda eccessivamente.

Used on 16 ohm resistance coil in a NESCO Gardenmaster food dryer. The circuit board of the NESCO dryers fail after a few months of continuous use (I’ve gone through like six of them). Needed to replace NESCO’s circuit with something more reliable so that I can adjust thermal output of the coil for different applications (drying meat vs herbs, etc) without spending $150 every year. Wired this up to the coil and it tested good! Did what it was supposed to. Now I’m reassembling the dryer and rewiring this device in a project box for prolonged use. We’ll see how the HiLetGo stands the test of time. But even if it fails at the end of the season, at least it’s an inexpensive replacement part, vs buying an entirely new dryer.

I bought this little controller to slow down a 110 vac exhaust fan about 10% or so. It was very noisy.I mounted it into a single gang box and it seems like it gets hot in there so I will probably have to vent the box somehow. But it works! It works good. There are no instructions and I read some of the other reviews so I was careful wiring it up. All of my adjustment is in the first 25% of knob rotation but overall it works and I am happy with my purchase. It fixed my noisy fan for 7 bucks!

It works good just that the soldering on one of the electronic components was broken so I had to do back the soldering on it but it works and ease of installation

For everyone who is curious about how it works. I wired this up to a 60w incandescent light and observed the wave. This appears to he a triac controlled device, when the dial is turned down cuts the sine wave down, when it's turned up, it allows it to go up. At full speed the wave is still partially cut but only slightly, that's just because of efficiency. This works great on my CNC shop vac, and other universal motor speed controls. Works great on resistive loads like motors, light bulbs, and probably AC heaters too (depending on the type). (Does not work on led light bulbs as they function different internally). For those of you who want to use this to vary the voltage, this won't work. The rms voltage will change a little but since the sine wave is only shortened it will still hit the high voltage levels of ~169v peak unless the wave is shortened to just a tiny piece of it. When I initially tested this is was giving full voltage full duty Cycle the whole time, it wasn't until I put a resistive load on the device that it actually began working.I have several of these because for my uses they work fantastic.

Contacted Toro to buy a new switch but they will not sell it; I am assuming for liability reasons. So I bought this and installed it successfully. I did have to trim some plastic in the mounting area of the old switch and splice some wire but I used the leaf blower all last fall without a problem. Now this year (2021) I went to use it and it failed. I started trouble shooting the board and found that the BTA16 Triac was blown. I had some so I replaced it and found the the speed was no longer controllable and blew another BTA16-600B Triac. I then started to test the other components and found that both of the resistor pots are bad. I think the components poor quality and the heat sink cannot handle the heat of the TRIAC.

Being in the electrical field and working around motors I had a good feeling this would not work, but I thought what the heck, its only 5 bucks so I will give it a try.I have a single phase .5 HP 110V 1725 RPM motor I wanted to use on a pig roaster so need to reduce the speed way down.Got it hooked up correctly and it only reduces the speed to maybe 1000 RPM. If you reduce it any lower the motor goes into whats called slip speed where the motor loses relative motion causing a jerking motion on the motor that doesn't stop until u increase the voltage some. Its not voltage that increases or decreases the speed on a single phase motor, its line frequency which is HzYou need a VFD which changes the line frequency to reduce the speed of a single phase motor, not a volate regulator.Yes this may work on lights as a dimmer but you cannot control speed with it so I would suggest you change the advertising of this to just a dimmer not a AC motor speed control.

I bought one of these to lower the voltage on some strings of old Christmas lights to prolong the bulb life. They will only draw about 2A so the unit will not overheat. However, upon examining the product I see that it uses a BTA16 triac that is rated for 16A RMS, not the claimed 25A RMS, so that resulted in the 4 star rating instead of a 5 star. I also doubt it could control 2000W without a fan cooling it without burning out. In this type of controller the limiting factor is going to be heat removal because the heatsink is very small. As an experiment I connected it to a Christmas tree with lights that consume 5.2A at 120VAC (measured with a clip-on ammeter) to see how hot the heatsink got. As expected, it got over 224F (the room was 68F) within a few minutes (hotter than boiling water) and hotter than I would feel comfortable with. The semiconductor chip inside the triac chip is running even hotter, probably by 15F or so, so that is getting close to the maximum operating temperature of 150C for the triac. I feel comfortable using it with my 2A Christmas lights string but I personally wouldn't go much above that.Assuming that you use the unit at lower currents I think this is a great value. It is well packaged and works fine. However, it has wiring connections with the AC line voltage exposed, very unsafe around young children or pets, so it should really be in some sort of protective enclosure. It would not be easy to enclose it since there are no mounting holes on the circuit board and enclosing it could result in even higher temperatures unless the enclosure had good ventilation including possibly a cooling fan.
