I purchased the Hiipoo 3.6.0 SG500/SG1000 Sublimation Ink Cartridges hoping for a seamless replacement, but unfortunately, they did not work in my printer despite my best efforts.Compatibility IssuesWhile advertised as compatible with the SG500 and SG1000 printers, the cartridges failed to function properly in my SG500. I followed the installation instructions carefully, ensuring everything was aligned and seated correctly, but the printer would not recognize the cartridges.Troubleshooting AttemptsI tried every possible solution to make these cartridges work: • Resetting the printer multiple times. • Cleaning and reseating the cartridges. • Checking for firmware updates.Nothing resolved the issue. The printer either displayed an error message or did not detect the cartridges at all.Build QualityThe cartridges seemed well-made and securely sealed upon arrival, but that quality did not translate into functionality. It’s disappointing that a product designed for specific printers would encounter such issues.Customer SupportUnfortunately, I could not find a clear resolution from the manufacturer or seller. The lack of reliable support made the situation more frustrating.Final ThoughtsWhile the idea of a more affordable sublimation ink option was appealing, these cartridges ultimately failed to deliver on their promise. If you rely on your printer for business or crafting, I recommend sticking with original brand cartridges to avoid compatibility issues and wasted time.Rating: 1/5Disappointing and non-functional—these cartridges were a waste of time and money.

The price is so much better than Sawgrass ink. Works great.

My Sawgrass 500 is a beautiful machine but gosh if I could go back in time and buy a different sublimation printer I would. The self cleaning, while of course is necessary, eats up so much ink. QUICK. Which means paying for “other name brand” ink burns a hole in your pocket. I was barely breaking even on my business trying to keep up with ink costs. Until I stumbled on this! I was nervous the colors wouldn’t be as vibrant but gosh they are beautiful and a fraction of the price. U have zero complaints and will now purchase this regularly.

I decided to buy this ink because the seller, Hiipoo claimed within their description, the ink cartridges were compatible with my SG500 and the chips on the cartridges were updated to the latest firmware. After I received the order, I installed the cartridges and I was able to print two 20 oz. tumbler wraps. The following morning, I go to my office to print tumbler wraps and I see a Non-Sawgrass ink warning and the options to either replace with genuine Sawgrass ink cartridges or continue and void my warranty. Well, since my warranty had expired July 2023, I wasn't concerned about voiding a warranty. I opted to continue. After pressing continue, I attempt to print from Photo Shop, Corel, Canva, Silhouette, and Inkscape but all the prints came out horribly faded. Additionally, the display on my SG500 would show a "?" where the black ink indicator should display it was full. So, I take pictures and recorded videos to send to Hiipoo as proof of the issue I was experiencing with their ink cartridges. The company promptly responds with two options; a refund or a replacement. I opt for a replacement since I was able to print two tumbler wraps before the printer recognized I was using non-Sawgrass inks. Hiipoo sent out the replacements cartridges within 2 days, but the replacements rendered the same issue with the printer recognizing the ink cartridges were not genuine Sawgrass ink cartridges, but with "?" where the black and yellow are installed. Again, I take pictures and videos showing the problems I was experiencing yet again with Hiipoo ink installed. It took the company a few days to respond but when they finally respond, I am given a set of instructions to follow and to take pictures of each step to send for their technical department to look over to find out if they can find a workaround. Well, I sent in the pictures as requested and the company responded "take a picture of your firmware version and send it to them. Again, I do as requested but for some reason I do not receive a response. I take it upon myself to contact them and they decide to finally respond. And the response was short of what I expected. I was told supposedly by their technical department and I quote; Technical department: There is a problem with the print head. The printer needs to be repaired. Otherwise, no matter how many ink cartridges you buy, it will be useless.. Instead of Hiipoo being honest and admitting the chips that are attached to their ink cartridges were not updated to latest firmware, which is 3.03, they decided to avoid responsibility by blaming the recurrent issue on the printer. If you don't mind wasting your money, by all means buy their ink cartridges. But my advice to anyone considering buying replacement inks for your SG500, to spend your money elsewhere as I ended up doing. It wasn't the printer, because it works as it should with genuine Sawgrass inks and another third party seller's inks. The problem is as I stated above, Hiipoo failed to update their cartridges but yet they are still selling them on Amazon to customers who are hoping to save money. Again, please don't waste your money buying these ink cartridges, you will regret it.
