This thing is a game changer for processing deer. The only thing I did to make it easier to use was duct tape the two pieces together so they wouldn't slide apart when I was trying to get the deer on the hooks. Once I did that, it was very easy to use and made hoisting a 150lb deer easy for 1 person.

A clever designed bit of kit. Don't get your ropes fangled though and it doesn't like heavy carcasses, more truthfully the hooks aren't strong enough and bend . When a hook bends straight on one side it's all a bit of afk up. Probably just use stronger hooks and you should be ok

I bought this hoist specifically for two pigs that I was butchering. It was light weight but strong and had plenty of rope. The pigs I put on the hoist were 300lbs and 260lbs and had no issues. If you try to wrap the rope around your hands it will hurt when lifting heavy animals, however I used a small crowbar and wrapped the rope around it several times and used the bar as a handle which worked great and saved my hands. The locking mechanism also worked really well and held the rope without it slipping.

Bought two of these and used them to hang two cow elk. Worked as advertised and held the elk up so we could process them ourselves. Great product!

This is definitely not stainless steel, tested with magnet and clearly only mild steel. Unfortunately, I need it tomorrow so not time to exchange. Apart from that, it's reasonable quality for the price.

Quick set up and easy to use. We’ve only used it a couple times so far but it’s worked great. It includes plenty of rope and has been very sturdy.
