I have never had a compass before, so I have nothing to compare the mechanics to but build wise I don't think it's going to be very durable. I like the look, the size and that you can attach a lanyard to it and it seems to work fine in my local travels, but I think I would want a better-quality compass if I was a hiker or adventurist. I think it's good for a beginner and the price fair for what you are getting.

This compass with mirror has a fairly solid feel to it despite its all plastic material. It is in line with similar compasses at this price point. Accurate and works as it should, lightweight, and compact, which is great for travel and storage. Overall, very satisfied with the quality of this compass.

This is a good quality compass. Very well crafted and put together. Have not truly tested it yet but seems very accurate so far. Good buy.

Decent quality for the price. Mirror came with protective film and gives a very nice reflection. Lanyard/necklace is a nice addition as well. Will make a solid addition to the hiking gear.

Decent compass for the price. Build quality is so so. It has the ability to adjust declination, but you have to loosen a tiny screw to do so, and it feels kind of fiddly. Good starter compass.

The unit which I was delivered failed immediately. While setting the declination the tiny brass screw/worm gear which engages to rotate the inner plate to set the declination failed to engage the teeth under the bezel. When you hold the unit at an angle and look down into the "works" you can see the little worm gear freely turning without actually engaging and moving the plate. I bought this as a backup for fieldwork, where a compass is critical. This unit was entirely useless for my needs. It's a good looking compass and substantially cheaper than the unit which it obviously imitates, but the quality control or materials make this a poor choice for serious use.

A really nice orienteering compass packed with key features. Unfortunately, the first compass I received had a 2mm bubble trapped inside the fluid. Small bubbles are visually annoying but often don’t affect needle movement or accuracy. In my situation the bubble kept growing (fluid was very slowly leaking out) so I returned it and they shipped me a replacement compass that is perfect and has no bubbles/no leaks.
