These speakers sound amazing. They are a little thick and it took awhile to get them placed just right so they don’t put pressure on my ear but I finally got it perfect and love them.

I really like the sound compared to my old speakers. You can increase the volume without getting distortion. Definitely go for it if you want to upgrade your old speakers

These are very good sounding helmut speakers but if your helmut does not seal out wind or road noise you can't hear a dam thing. I would not buy these if you know your helmut is noisy or you drive over 80 km an hour. To expensive to not hear the music while driving motorcycle, can't recommend them.

I run a Cardo edge with the Iasus Ear3H amp and these XSound4 speakers. I also wear earplugs when riding. They are PUNCHY and have a lot of bass. You can feel the bass vibrate in your helmet and against your ears with this speaker paired with an amp. The JBL speakers don’t get nearly as loud without causing a lot of distortion. The bass on the JBLs is also weak, Even when tested with an amp. With the XSound4, I’m able to crank the volume knob up to about 80 percent on the amp without any distortion. After that, it starts to get distorted but you really don’t need it any louder. Being able to increase the volume that much makes it so I can hear music clearly no matter the wind or speed I’m going. I also ride a naked bike so I’m getting a lot of wind when riding.I’ve noticed these speakers naturally have more bass when compared to the Cardo so I did adjust my EQ settings to have less bass to compensate. It sounds perfect to me on most genre songs when using both Spotify’s EQ Bass Reduction setting and Cardo app’s bass boost setting.Overall, I highly recommend it only if you plan on running an amp in your set up. JBL and Xsound4 are about on par without an amp. I do not think the Cardo alone can make use of the potential of these speakers. With an amp, there is a clear winner. So if you’re looking for an upgrade for your Cardo, an amp is a must otherwise you’re better off just sticking with the JBLs that came with it.

update! 12/3/24. after working with Mike who is very helpful. These speakers do not live up to the description.i have adjusted them several times and mike has sent me pads for thr speakers . However what happens is they sound great in the house/garage until i start my bike 23 roadglide. Then ALL the clarity dissapears. These speakers are basiclly "loudspekers" as they lose any clarity when riding my bike. I live in AZ and not a rural area,Phoenix. 70-80 is typical freeway speed. These speakers do not overcome the wind, engine, or road noise. They are very high pitched when volume all the way up tinny/Treble to try and overcome these issues. no clarity. My previous bike i built a stereo system with the suggestion from a pro installer, sound competition judge and competitor himself who has done all the science on how and what it takes to ovrcome all these issues to hear your music loud and clear! with My system i could increase the volume as high as i wanted and it would nevr distort, unlike these do by becoming tinny. I ride with others who have "systems" and i hear the same problems as these have loud but no clarityUpdate!! these are positioned correctly but just can't cut through these issues.i've had these since april trying to grt them to live up to the description but now after multiple emails and attempts I need to figure something else out! 2 Stars as mike is very helpful but its the product and not the service First update. Iasus contacted me and has helped me work through the issue I was having. Part of it is placement while the bigger unknown issue has to do with the Cardo system itself which has an eq in the app. Mike recalled having a similar issue with another person. They turned off the eq on the Cardo as I did and the sound was so much better! Thanks Mike for reaching out and helping with this issue. This vendor does care about you and the product they make!have the cardos speakers that camewith unit. wanted better clarity at highr volumes to overcome riding noise. these aren't working either when riding. tried adjusting per directions but still not better. reached out to iasus as to a solution. they sound great in the house but... real world to overcome roadnoist needmore volume and when that happens things get distorted/tinny on higher volume w no way to adjust with cardo or Iphone audio adjustments. may just return and look fo better solution!

Ear comfort is what sets these apart from normal helmet speakers. The silicone ear pads allow you to place the speaker away from your ear and still get good sound. Typical helmet speakers literally need to be almost crushing your ears to get good sound out of them. That's painful and creates hot spots on your ears, especially after you've had the helmet on for a while. These are worth the price to me for the comfort they provide.Downsides: They are absolutely over priced, even at the sale price. These should cost seventy five bucks, max. And they are large, so you may have to modify your cheek pad ear pockets to get them to fit, I did(on two different helmets). Also, they don't sound any better than the speakers that recent Cardo units come with(JBL's), so if you aren't experiencing ear pain then these are not worth the upgrade.

I was contemplating getting the 45mm JBL speakers for the Cardo as I was watching YouTube reviews I came across JBL 45mm vs I A S U S Xsound 3 so I did some research decided on the Xsound 4 no distortion 10x better bass quality is great only negative I have is the speakers are a bit bigger and I had to cut some padding of the ear portion of the chin strap no big deal. If your considering stop it and buy now
