Bought from an American Co.However the Ballast is made in China which the website does not disclose. Not confident that the Ballast will last another 20 years as the original Ballast did.

I bought 2 of these to replace the HID headlight ballast on my Gen 2 Prius (2008). The replacement was fairly easy, and the part seems to be identical to the old part in every meaningful way. It was the correct fit and through following some tutorials online I was able to do the replacement myself. The lights are bright, steady, and seem to be working well. I will return to this review after a few thousand miles to update with the long term performance of the product.

I have had several gen 2 of these cars. ONLY my 2007 has the headlight problem. It's unknown to me why HID lights do not last very long in this vehicle. I bought these units hoping it would solve this ongoing problem...They do not. I will be buying more bulbs as.BTW ...unless you take apart the socket assembly for the HID bulb to install this unit.....it is virtually impossible to install...do not destroy your current unit by cutting any cables since there is a great likelyhood you will need to reinstall them when you return this product. When I examined the units, I noticed they had been taken apart for installations before and are most likely returns/ recycled parts....and after the 4 hour procedure, The system/bulb/unit/? both malfunctioned in IN 45mins. one doesn't work at all now. My conclusion is that HID are inherently flawed or suffer from very cheap MFG. I'm not paying $129 for a LIGHT BULB. There are some LEDs that plug directly into the HID system. That will be my last resort.I have re-installed one of my old units and it seems to be working with a new bulb for now.

This was not an easy install at all on an 06 Lexus ES330. Youtube has videos on it. Basically I had to remove the headlight assembly by loosening and moving the bumper out of the way. Also, the plastic piece over the radiator needed to be removed. Turn the steering wheel loosen the inner fender wall to access one bolt there holding the assembly. It was a two man job for me. It went rather smoothly after getting assembly out. Putting back together, well all the bolts were used, did I get them back where they came from probably not, but I used them all. Headlight now works. Lexus couldn't have made it anymore difficult to replace the ballast. Will update if any issues with the new ballast.

Purchased for a Lexus ES 300. Easy to install and seemed to work fine at first. At 4 months (just after the date I could return it through Amazon), the ballast quit working. Seller GWA Auto Parts has not followed through with the warranty to replace or refund my money. DON’T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! NOT REPUTABLE! They will ignore your calls & emails or say they will fix it, but then never take any action to do so. Very frustrating!

Installed HID Ballast with Ignitor on my 2005 Prius. It is working fine. It was a challenge to install not because of the part but because Toyota didn't design the headlight assembly for doing maintenance. Had to cut the cord to the old headlight connector to remove it because the opening that the cable runs thru is way to small to fit the large connector. Had to disassemble the new connector so I could pass just the wires thru the opening. Then had to reassemble the connector. There are several videos and write-ups on doing this - search "replace headlight ballast on 2005 prius". Not too difficult just not as easy at is should be, especially for someone who doesn't do this regularly.
