Review for 5/8" x 5 1/2" version.Taper measured as specified using readily available type of digital micrometer.Concentricity of centers and surfaces measured within a couple ten thousandths lathe dead centers (turning the mandrel and not the centers.)Almost no visible light between mandrel and granite surface plate. Not sure if that was irregularities in the surface plate or straightness of mandrel.Surface finish quite good, with a couple light scrapes that could have been from shipping or other handling. Those were worth a ten thousandth or so in the measurements.Overall, good enough to get an old lathe aligned well enough for reliable results in the thousandths range.

Lathe mandrel had no taper to it, this was verified by measuring both ends of the Mandrell and they both measured .434 which also is under sized for 7/16. Only one end is supposed to be under sized!
