Only one arm included. For this price should have included the elbow connection. Other than that it works as intended.

Je m'en sers pour tracer des repaires et des lignes parallèles sur certaines pièces à machiner. C'est parfait sur une surface de référence. Inconvénient, la base n'est pas magnétique et ne peut être utilisée sur une surface verticale où à l'envers.

Nicely made. Very handy for indicating parts on a surface plate. It has seen a lot of use since I bought it

I was expecting this to be way out of square and needing a lot of work to get this flat but it has no wiggle on my surface plate and I cannot fit a .001 feeler under the base (smallest feeler I have currently). I think the problem people have with these is the packaging. It is packaged in a very thin, flimsy china cardboard box inside the thinnest bag I think Ive ever seen. Box was pretty banged up so I thought it was going to be wrecked when I got it. There was one corner that was dented but it was impacted away from the bottom face. I could see how if it was dented from the side it would cause a corner to stick up, affecting flatness. I could see how if something heavy sat on the box it could cause warping. Overall this is very solid, the spindle knob needs to be tightened all the way down to hold the spindle straight but it works well with a dial indicator. I dont really understand how these are 300$ for a starrett, I can see how someone might need that level of precision but just using it on a surface plate with a dial indicator this works just fine.

Ships poorly packaged and arrived with some dings and burs. Not hardend or at least very much. There was a significant high spot on the bottom. It very noticeably rocked when placed on my surface plate. Lapped the bottom until it blued evenly and sanded off the burs. Took about 20 min now its usable.

Like many others mine arrived not flat and requires full disassembly and rebuild by hand. This is ok because I expected it based on other reviews. It’s important to point out that the base is not hardened as claimed, the fine adjust screw was digging into the top surface where they made contact and it cut easily with a file. The top and bottom are neither flat nor parallel. The bottom has a high spot in the middle which results in a corner to corner rocking of around 0.001in. and the parallelism is out by 0.0025in corner to corner. Not usable at all if you intend to put a dial test indicator on it. I hand scraped the bottom in then ground the top parallel to the bottom on my surface grinder, flipped it and ground the bottom in. Probably sunk 6 hours of work into it total but I figured as much walking into this project.

Easy to set up and use. Nicely machined heavy base but I wish is was magnetic. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
