Yes, being 4 inches wide, it is smaller than a typical 6-inch plastic protractor like the ones used in grade school. That said, I am quite happy with how precise and burr-free the machining is and how clear all the markings are. It looks great as is, but I think that it is going to look even better once it starts to develop a patina. It is a great little desk item, and the price can't be beat for what you get.
