Installed this set on two half helmets. The installation was a breeze and they seem heavy duty and secure. The only thing to be aware of is that the little plastic button used to secure the end of the loose strap, must be removed. Mine were very easy to remove without damaging the strap at all. It does add a bit of length to the strap. My head is big enough that the strap was secured, but on my wife's helmet I ran the strap back through the plastic piece. It was pretty tight, but I got it through and that holds the extra so it is not flapping around. The alternative would have been to cut the strap shorter, which would have been okay since I don't plan on ever taking these off. So much more convenient!

Very well made. Locks securely and release is quick. Now for the 'but', If your helmet has a 7/8 - 1" width strap, the hardware (buckles) are very, very tight. If you have a snap on the strap, it will need to be cut off. I put this on my wife's half helmet. If you have a helmet with a smaller width strap, I would recommend it highly. Only other downside is no directions. But if you know how a helmet strap is supposed to work you will figure it out. Would buy again after making sure the strap will fit.

Really glad to have this. I recently restored an old helmet and was considering replacing the chin strap or sewing a piece on to extend it. Decided to go with this so that I do not have to damage the original one.Very impressed with product. The video in the listing made it super to install. The materials are really solid and made of metal. In the end it is super comfortable on my chin and I am thrilled with how easy it is to snap and un-snap. Way more of a quality product that I expected for such a low price point.100% happy with it and highly recommend it.

I like the D ring side female piece. its a good stitch and a nice strong button. The tricky part is getting the other side to fit snugly. It comes with a plastic strap retainer and metal one. I had to avoid using either one to get the racheting piece to fit up high enough to feel safe when snapped all together. I had to use ALL the strapping on that side to get a good fit up and so i was left with all that extra strapping I just tucked it into the helmet shell and hid the remainder with the handy Velcro Strap cover it comes with. FITS GREAT. SNUG AS BUG. 100mph long rides, bumpy rides it doesnt come loose. I wear a LARGE
