The Helmet Quick Release Buckle Kit - Friendly Replacement for Motorcycle Helmet Quick Release, Easy to Use Quick Release Buckle for Helmets, Durable & Reliable. its very easy to setup on D-ring helmets and makes for quick removal of you helmet even with gloves on. Some say this is not needed, because it only takes a few seconds to remove gloves, but I like it because I can quickly secure the chin strap, and adjust very easily.

With over 40 years of riding, I learned very quickly that I did not like the basic D-ring helmet retainer setup. I have used several quick-release models over the years, with varying results. I can say that this one, while not great, is a good design. It does not come with instructions of any kind so you will have to study the webpage on Amazon and figure it out. It isn't too difficult. The ratcheting design allows for fine adjustment from day to day and is one of the best features of this unit. But, the sheer width of the clasp could have been made smaller. Depending on the size and shape of your neck you may find some of the metal touching your skin and irritating. Luckily as I said it is somewhat adjustable but you also have to keep in mind the purpose of the helmet in the first place. A comfortable but loosely fitting strap will not provide the protection you need to maintain safety. How much is your head worth?

This quick release buckle is much easier than threading the strap through the original D-rings. It was a bit fiddly to get it installed correctly. I had to grind a snap off of my old strap to enable me to get it threaded through the quick release buckle and the slack retainer, but it was well worth the effort. It's quick to latch and release the chin strap, and the latch has several steps so you can adjust the tension by how far you push it into the buckle. The quality seems to be very good, and the value is there for the price. I give the quick release buckle 5 stars,

docked one star for not having even an explanation of what the "extra" parts would be for. well, no instructions at all. even though it is simple enough to figure out in a minute. Helmet strap replacement; the old style double ring has been around for "ever", this new design is so much more user friendly and as for safety, it is quick and easy to release. I have this system on my other helmets, now I want to upgrade my older helmet. No instructions; simple enough, except for the extra parts that I can't figure out what they are ment for. NOTE; when inserting the pin be sure to hold the release UP out of the way, I also put a drop of blue thread lock on the tiny screw. You can remove the old rings, but I left them on just in case I change my mind. Works like a charm, no more fiddling with the strap, can even pull it open with gloves on.

I have used several of these ratchet-style quick-release helmet buckles over the years. These ratchet-style buckles are far more common in Europe than here in the USA, where D-strap buckles are more common.Adding one of these conversions allows me to quickly and easily operate the buckle with my gloves on, and since the buckle does not move, the strap is always correctly adjusted. This buckle is completely made out of metal, and the ratcheting mechanism closes with a satisfying rattle. The connection is very strong, and I have no worries about this failing.Installation is simple: just attach the buckle to the D-strap like you would when you put your helmet on. It's as simple as that. This works great and is great quality. I think this is a very nice quality-of-life addition for D-strap helmet users.Great product!

Nice quick release buckle for my passenger's helmet!I got this because they are new to riding and aren't used to the old D loop style helmet strap. This makes it easier to latch the helmet on securely, and it's easier to do with gloves too. This is made of sturdy metal teeth for the one ratcheting piece so it feels very sturdy.Your helmet should fit snug and the chin strap is just a final piece of insurance and this feels perfect for that.

It's well-made and works great on my helmet. Installation was easy. I'll be buying more for other helmets in the future for sure!
