Don’t like the bottom stakes sticking out, rods don’t quite fit into each other easily, ball deflates and loses color within couple months.

I remember playing tetherball way back when and even though in my mind I was rocking it, I was not that good. So as an adult this is a great opportunity to redeem myself and bring back good memories not just for myself but for family and friends around me. Everything pictured is included, all you really have to do is sink the pole into the ground, put in your safety pins to help hold it in place, pump up your ball, tie it nice and tight and you are good to go.However, I do have some heavy hitters that have knocked this pole out of the ground, so we are going to do a cemented base and bury it in the ground next year. However this is made to where you can travel with it so taking it to family reunions, camping, or just summer in general is super easy and a great idea for something extra fun to do this next summer. So whichever works best for you and your family you will make it work, would highly recommend!

I like the idea that this is portable and can be taken to family outings, or other get togethers. It would be good if it had a bag to carry it in. Be aware it is not designed for heavy hitters, as the pole is not real big. The base has a center hole for the pole that the instructions say put it 11.8 inches in the ground and also has 3 additional pegs to help give it stability. Depending on the soil will depend how well it will stay up. I will plan to make mine permanent and put the base in concrete to prevent it from falling over. The rope and the ball are strong and should hold up well.

The pole is a bit flimsy and wobbles around. It's just too thin. Does it work? Yes. The install? Well it doesn't show you have to install it in the ground once you put it together and I think it's done that way on purpose, because you have to sit there and hammer it to the ground for a good 20 minutes. You use each stake to anchor it and you hit each one evenly so that it will go all the way in the ground. Either way the kids love it.

Hubby and I have had a great time playing with this. The dog likes it too and will chase it in circles trying to catch it. Very easy to put together and take apart if you want to take it with you, no concrete involved! We have soft ground so had to stick it a lot further in the ground than expected, but the ground plate is adjustable for that purpose. There is plenty of rope for tying high or low.The ground stakes seem to be re-purposed tent stakes so they don't fit all the way to the collar. The only other negative is the screw pieces that hold the poles together stick out quite a ways, so as soon as the rope wraps around one of those it quickly shortens the game as it's hard to unwrap without stopping and doing it by hand. But, if you used to play tetherball as a kind, I think you will still enjoy it!

I set this up in the yard for the girls, and didn't get much help from the instructions. The way it said to set it up made it to where the cord was getting hooked on the set screws, so I switched the screw-less portions on the top. And reinforced it with the spinning outer sleeves. Not sure what purpose they serve, or why I would need them on bottom. And now there's a small risk of the top coming off, if they were to somehow yank up on it. But I don't foresee that ever happening, and I like being able to take it apart without tools at both the top and bottom. It's pretty steady, however I think if you were to put it in at the height it recommends it might be a bit flimsy and less solid. I put it in a little deeper (as high as I could put the stake plate on the first spike piece.) and had to tie up the excess cord on the tether to keep it off the ground. And this gives me a little more piece of mind that it' won't tip, or get pulled out of the ground, or have enough shake to pop the top off when getting yanked around. My only complaints are the poorly described instructions, it's more of just a model of all the pieces layed out with a lable, and an illistration of it put together with corrispoding lables next to the illistration. However, it doesn't explain why anything is anywhere, so it feels like there's just a bunch of extra peices for no reason, why are there sleeves, why are there some pieces with set screws and some without, why does the set screw pieces go on top to get tangled in the rope?Great product, poor description/explanation/instructions. Just a picture with in my opinion nonsense reasoning for the placement of certain parts. This could just be me missing a function that this is supposed to have, but I feel like it will function better the way I set it up. That's obviously just an opinion.I would recommend.
