Item is made of steel not alumnium as advertised, It is supposed to open to 7.5" Returned the first unit received because it would not open greater then 7". The replace would open almost to 7.5" and that was enough to work on one battery I have. Both units were were made of steel not aluminum. I still don't think I got the right unit that was being sold.

Why did I wait so long? If you use this tool once, it's a great investment. Stores easy on a nail if needed. I drilled a hole at a good balancing spot

This will only open to six and three quarters inch only. I bought it because they said it up to 8". Now I have to modify it and Weld an extention to accommodate my 7.5" battery's.

Add says opens to 8 inches.It doesn't. It opens to 7 inches like all the others.Gets 3 stars because it's $2 cheaper than others.
