The listing photo shows a birdhouse at top of this shepherd hook, which is what I thought I was getting. The box it came in showed a birdhouse on the top of the shepherd’s hook. THERE IS NO BIRDHOUSE. Instead, it came with a dish for the top of the shepherd so that you can pour seed into. Very disappointed I feel I’ve been deceived.

This double shepherd hook checks all the boxes for me – strength, ease of assembly, attractiveness, and multi-functional use. It is made of strong metal, painted with an attractive black lacquer finish. It is easy to assemble, with a good instruction manual that lists all included parts and provides step-by-step directions. The pole pieces screw together easily and connect to the 5-pronged base, which provides stability when inserted into the ground. The height can be adjusted depending upon how many of the 15” pole pieces you connect. The hooks, with their pretty scroll designs, securely attach to the pole with angle nuts and wing nuts. There are three options for the top of the pole: a bird house platform, a feeding tray, or a waterproof case to cover the hollow pole. I chose to use the cover, but I like that I have other options if I choose to change it up later. I also like the versatility of the hooks for hanging bird feeders, flower baskets, wind chimes, and lanterns. I’m very happy with this product and I feel that it is reasonably priced.

This pole is well made, easy to assemble and works well for hanging a bird feeder and wind chime. Beautiful for the front yard or backyard. Sturdy and stays put.

It's relatively sturdy for being hollow. Calling this adjustable is, technically, true. You "adjust" it by removing entire sections from the base. The legs are built in such a way that you can't push this flush to the ground. The legs will always be above the surface. Two of the legs get attached to the bottom section, but the other two just slide onto the bottom which means you will not be able to just set this where you want it and use your foot to plant it. You'll need to hold the bottom on while placing it. The legs are just poorly thought out.

Ground is too frozen and snow covered here to see how well it inserts and holds up, however, the individual parts all seem solidly made and went together as expected. I like the variety of hooks and hangers. Looking forward to spring and putting it to good use in my garden. I own another pole with a 5 prong base and that one is definitely more secure in the ground than 4 prong ones. I expected this one will be too.
