I needed a small grate because of an insert, but going into its sixth season, the grate has major distortions.I might add that we have a fairly short winter in North Florida, so don't expect it to last or be prepared to replace.

Not easy to find a small version of this product that fits into the smaller Wood Stoves but this was it. Clear instructions came with it. I am not sure why these grates tend to be on the expensive side - they are after all practically solid steel with few frills although the price is competitive. Happy with the product.

I live in the central coast mountains where it is misty, cold, and gloomy most of the day and a good fire is essential to warm up the house and feel comfortable. I use my Osburn wood stove daily and needed a grate to allow for better circulation and a more reliable fire. I was very selective in my search and saw plenty of reviews for similar products that broke or cracked in high heat, which is unacceptable as high heat is part of the product's purpose. It is solidly built, and so far has handled fires that did get a bit bigger and hotter than I would've thought. It allows me to control airflow around my fire when used in conjunction with the vents, and that makes a huge impact on getting the results I want. I really enjoy the additional benefit of the slats letting the smoldering embers fall through to heat the next log from the bottom with great ease. If it survives this winter and doesn't fail structurally, I am getting another as well as gifting them to my friends.

This is working out extremely well. I use this inside a chiminea and it's perfect. I use to use some bricks but those were just a pain falling over, trouble balancing the logs, ect and everything. This holds the logs nicely. The airflow with this is so much better and I get a much more complete burn with no adjusting needed. Done a few fires (hot ones) with this and it's been holding up, no issues so far. I have it sitting on top of some lava rock that fills the bottom of the chiminea. It makes nights more relaxing because I don't have to keep turning logs to keep them burning, I just place them and they burn completely because of the increased airflow around them. I would definitely recommend this for nice for nights.

For the price I was expecting something that would last. This is after 3 1/2 months of use. If I could give a lower rating I would.

Terrific product. I was looking for a small fireplace grate for my fireplace insert stove and the 10x13 grate was perfect. It allows me to move the wood around easily and to clean under it because it tilts back nicely. That also helps with placement of small pieces of kindling under it. It is sturdy and lifts the logs to a perfect height so that the air can circulate nicely under it, increasing the efficiency of the burn. I am very pleased with it so far. Thank you SteelFreak!

My stove burns 18" wood, and this grate fits nicely with a couple of inches space on either side. It improves air circulation, helps in starting and maintaining a blaze. I tilt it back to scoop out ashes underneath - no muss, no fuss. It keeps logs from rolling forward toward the glass door. I was so happy with the literature that came with it (written in perfect English with no typos!) that i was tempted to review right away. But decided to use it for a few weeks first. It's holding up just fine.

I love this product ! I have a fireplace with a smaller than average opening & needed a log holder that would fit into the opening & this is the one ! It is heavy, sturdy, made of steel, & perfect for a smaller fireplace. It will hold multiple logs & I love that it is made in the USA, shipped from Lafayette, GA. It arrived before delivery date given to me when I ordered. Customer service with Federated Trade is top notch as I communicated with them a number of times & they were very quick to respond. I won't hesitate to order from this company again & I would highly recommend this product. They also have grates for larger fireplaces, too.

We had our fireplace fitted with an energy efficient insert that made the interior smaller and we weren't able to use standard sized grates. This unit works well, is very heavy and seems extremely well-made.

We searched locally for a good small grate and everything we saw was either too big or junk. This grate neatly fits our wood stove and we're very pleased with the quality. One observation from my partner (who makes and tends the majority of fires), is that it would help if the legs were just a little shorter to make it a bit easier to get wood in the stove while still allowing air to draw up from below. It has been used a lot recently and holding up very well.
