I replaced a 20 year old door bell. It was easy and all three door bells are working fine now.

All in all the product works fine. However if you bought this item because others said it was compatible to a ring. It is NOT working and will not fix the hum problem with the ring doorbell pro2 camera. Basically waste of money for me. But hoping this will save someone else the hassle. It is all smaller than the chime box that came with the house so I also have some paint to touch up. But looks more clean than the other. One screw came pre stripped. Luckily still had screws from old unit.

Very close match to replace the original Trine Chime and makes the same ding-dong sound. A ladder was needed but otherwise easy install. I thought the plastic screw anchors were a bit large or the screws were too small but they worked and unlikely the chime will get bumped mounted high in the hallway. One of the donger rods has a foam pad on top of it. It is not mentioned in the instructions so I wasn't sure if it was packing material or needed so I left it in. Chime works fine.

I got this to add a chime in my basement. After hours of wiring and frustration I got the wire ran down to my basement and hooked this unit up. It's not super loud but still loud enough to hear over a TV and two toddlers. I got this exact model because it's what's installed on my ground level, and the chime sounds are an exact match from this unit and my current 20 year old one. Pretty impressive that they last that long, but I wish they had a louder chime, or an adjustable volume. Makes a standard ding-dong chime. I would buy this again.

Bought this for my Skybell doorbell as I originally had a digital bell chime that requires an adapter for it to be compatible with the Skybell. I didn't want to bother with waiting for the adapter and wasn't comfortable with the reviews on the adapter with a digital chime. So I just replaced my chime box instead. This is a manual chime and works great with the Skybell. It was easy to install following the instructions. Easier for me because I only have one doorbell. If you have a Skybell this manual chime will work. You just have to disable the digital chime in the Skybell app. And it does chime with a "ding dong" not just a "ding" like in some reviews. I already have a transformer in my wall wiring. Works great and keeps my Skybell powered as well. No more issues like I had with my digital chime box like when I first installed my Skybell. Great price too. It's loud enough to hear around my entire 1800 sq ft house.

I purchased a Ring 2 doorbell and installed it (hardwire) -- connected to an existing doorbell. My existing doorbell was a basic Nutone chime bell. The first time I clicked the button on the Ring 2 I heard a buzzing sound from the existing chime and then it fizzled out and the bell wouldn't work anymore. After doing some online research, this seemed to be a common problem with Nutone chimes with Ring 2s. So, I purchased this inexpensive doorbell , replaced the Nutone with this one and it works great. Nice , pleasant, loud (but not annoying ) ding dong sound. Sure, I could have used the Ring Wireless chime but I don't like that "electronic" sounding bell. The drill holes didn't quite line up with the Nutone holes, but no big deal. I am NOT a handy person at all but this was super easy to do. If you have a Ring 2 bell , rest assured that this doorbell will work well!

My house has a strange layout where there are two transformers and two different doorbell units. I had installed a unit very similar to this for our main door about 12 years ago and it still works fine. On the other door, there was a crummy painted over buzzer, not a bell, and it died. To replace it, I wanted to have it look like the other unit since the two units are fairly close to each other (one is in the kitchen and one is in the adjoining foyer). The cover of this unit is an exact match for the old one. The internal mechanism is slightly different. The old one has three mounting screws (similar to one of the reviewers here). The new one has two mounting screws. If you stare through the slots at the bottom of the cover, they look slightly different, but I am not sure who would ever do that (except for me since I installed both). The new one is installed as a "back" door so it just does a ding, rather than a ding-dong, to distinguish it from the old one.It was nice to be able to find a nice simple doorbell for a good price. I installed a musical doorbell for my parents and it died after about five years. Sometimes simpler is just better.Another reviewer commented that these covers are good for replacing missing ones from older units and I would have to agree since I can interchange my 12 year old cover with the new one with no issues. My only possible negative is that if you have a really big house, this doorbell may not be loud enough for you. In my three bedroom house, I think it is loud enough.
