The Terrain is a bike with design optimized to tackle the roads in between the roads, the ones that don't show up on your GPS while driving down the interstate. Ride where you didn't know you could -Limestone paths, gravel, dirt, and B-roads plus some singletrack to link it all together. The Terrain is a bike for ALL terrains. Strong, light, and durable Aluminum 6061 alloy was used to withstand the rough roads this bike is made to handle. A super compact double crankset and 2x9 speed L-Twoo drivetrain provide enough range to ride up steep hills and rip down other side. The stable frame geometry, tires that are wide and aggressive enough to ride off-road, plus powerful dual piston disc brakes all help you keep things under control on the gnarliest sections of roads you can't find on every map. With the Terrain roads that you thought were off limits to drop-bar bikes are now the ones you will be looking for.

The Head HE03A arrives 90% assembled out of the box. The completion of the bike should be easy if you're mechanically inclined. I would still recommend having the bike inspected by your local bike mechanic (as my bike had a slightly bent rear derailliure hanger that caused the shifting to be off). The CST tires were quiet on smooth pavement and capable on my local trail (C&O towpath Georgetown). The LTwoo group set (2x9) works well. The size small fits me (at 5',8"). I added a few accessories (wahoo stem mount, frame bag, bottle cages, light kit, mini pump and wide platform pedals) and the bike was ready to go. The Head HE03A is a great all roads/ gravel bike for the frugal cycling enthusiast and beginner. #NewTrafficPatternAhead

Is a good gravel bike. I’m surprised with the shifters, very precise. Good product for beginners and trails as well.

If you're confident in your bike tuning skills and want a jack-of-all bike, this is a gem. Nice and light for the size, fairly robust frame and wheelset, and good stopping power in all conditions. I got mine for under $400 which was fantastic, but even for double that I wouldn't be upset at the quality. Well worth the cost. The finicky tuning refers to the derailleurs and brakes. The front derailleur doesn't have any simple adjustments so it's a nuisance for the first few months of riding as the cable stretched on me a little and the chain would rub in the taller gears until adjusted. The brakes are also a budget design that are reliable, but take much longer (like 3x longer) to dial in than any other I've set up to date. The only other gripe was the chain line from the factory might as well be glue. Super sticky and annoying until cleaned and re-lubed with something better.

Head have nailed this one... yep, pun alert... on the head.Arrived excellently packed, not a scratch on it. Great color scheme in green and black, quite a looker in person, this bike will turn heads. Their mechanics pre-set this bike up for minimal assembly, they did a fine job. For most people it should be ready right out of the box.Since I've been a mechanic and raced semi-professionally in the past, I noticed some very minor adjustments needed to the brakes and shifting (I'm very picky though). But out of the box, I've never seen such a well packed, pre-ready bike in 30 years. Took me all but 15 minutes to completely unpack it and assemble. The adjustments took a bit longer than that, but again, I am very picky and want everything tuned perfectly.I bought this bike to replace my cheap road bike I bought in 2020 when covid hit, its duty was to be on a trainer 24/7 so I could race on Zwift indoors. It's done a marvelous job as a trainer slave. With that said, I am retiring it, and also selling my pro level Niner Cyclocross bike. . I do more MTB than cyclocross these days so I didn't need something near as expensive as the Niner (that was a $7,500.00 bike). So the Head Terrain will serve dual duty as a trainer bike and adventure/cyclocross bike, and will perform this dual duty admirably- much better than I anticipated for just over $700 bucks (I got mine for less than that because Amazon had a 15% coupon off the retail price).I am so impressed with the Terrain right out of the box. Head made a lot of good decisions for a bike at this price point. I'm riding the 54". The components are all serviceable, not going to win awards but the entire bike weighs just a tad shy of 27lbs which is quite good.I particularly like the flat top drop bars, very comfortable on the hands for long distance riding. Geometry borders on comfortable and aggressive, a nice balance here. The rear end delivers plenty power transfer but seems compliant enough on the bumps despite the fact that the entire frame and fork are aluminum.I have noticed no cut corners, bar tape is nicely done, color scheme is spot on, it's a super clean looking rig that even has front and rear rack mounts in case you want to go the adventure bike route (the rear will require rack extensions because of the low seat stays).I feel I got alot more bike than the money I paid, and regardless of price, it's quite a fun ride that looks nice and should serve quite a long time. The mechanical disc brakes aren't as strong as fluid disc, but they are stronger than rim clinchers by far. Shifters and derailleurs feel just as good as entry level Shimano (which are quite decent actually), crankset is decent.Overall Head have put together a fantastic bike for the buck here and for anyone wanting a more versatile road bike that can handle some offroad with aplomb, I think this would make a great entry point bike that might please and last longer than you expect.

The description says it all! This bike transitions so easily from the road to the mostly smooth dirt trail. Have always supported Head bikes, and that's not stopping anytime soon.

Got a great deal on my Head Terrain. Shipping was quick and the bike arrived two days early. Assembly was easy but I did have to adjust the front disk brake (there was rub). I’ve gone on two rides with the Terrain (58 miles) and it’s been great! It handles gravel and single track like a champ. The construction quality (welds in particular) on the Head Terrain are comparable in consistency and cleanliness to those on my Specialized. The transmission (shifters, derailleurs, gears) are cheap (I had never heard of L-Twoo and a search shows just how inexpensive they are). But I have had zero issues in my two rides (although I only use the 46t chainring). So far so good, I would definitely recommend this bike for anyone wanting to dip their toes into gravel riding…(but not at msrp - I got mine for about 1/3 off).
