In some cases, damaged castings may need to be replaced. Different gaskets require different surface finishes, so the surface finish must be matched to the type of gasket that is required for the application. Some gaskets are asymmetric, and the correct orientation can be visually distinguished.

Worked well for a 2012 Captiva Sport that needed a new head and timing chain set. Timing cover gasket, head gasket, valves seals, intake manifold and valve cover gaskets were all used and seemed quality.
