The camera came in on time and in good packaging. It can be used by a dental student for projects or as a learning tool.It is a little too expensive to use it for everyday use. Not sure what I would use it for either as I don't need to see what is stuck in my teeth etc. A simple floss or brush can fix any issues I have. The picture/camera quality is pretty impressive for the size of the tool.Overall, okay product but not for everyday use. Maybe for a medical/dental student.

The ProDENT PD720 is a high-quality intraoral camera that is a niche product for dentistry students or those that are involved in dentistry in some way shape or form. The product comes with a manual, a software CD, a cable for attachment to one's PC, the camera itself, and protective sheaths. The software (Open dental) was easy to set up and allowed me to easily capture images of my partner's teeth. The images were very high quality and clear. There is also a zoom function (x4) that allows the user to focus on a specific area. Furthermore, the presence of LED lights on the camera tip allows for the image to be extremely clear and well-illuminated. Overall, my quality with the product and software was more than great. I never ran into any bugs or issues and was even able to directly save images to my hard drive instantly without issues. Now, while this product is great in terms of its functionality, it is definitely not a product for the average person. There are countless intraoral cameras out there that can do the same job without having the cost of this particular one. As this intraoral camera is made for those who are professionals or are seeking to be a professional in dentistry, I can see this being a very useful aid in their learning process. As such, I would give this product an overall 5-star as long as you are a user who is studying some aspect of dentistry.

[PROS] 👍✔Camera Feed Clarity Picture Quality✔Precision Image Capture & Zoom Function✔Multi-LED Light for Added Visibility[CONS] 👎✘Very Expensive✘Ergonomic/Hand Comfort✘Requires Training for Efficient Usage[PRODUCT EXPERIENCE] ★ ★ ★ ★ ★👉 The Pro DENT PD720 is on the high end side of personal intraoral camera options available and offers some solid tech options for those wishing to obtain a detailed analysis of their mouth and teeth from the comfort of your own home. The overall feel of the PD720 is well constructed, offering a firm solid grip - not ergonomically comfortable, for reasonable for the time required for an inspection. The PD720 streams the video feed from your PC (or MacOS using Parallels), with a clear detailed image fed through the included USB cable. Because of the multi-LED lighting surrounding the camera, I can clearly see all teeth in excellent detail, along with the gum-line and tongue. Moreover, the PD720 offers zoom functionality up to x4 for a more thorough look, along with an auto focus feature and when fed into PC, the image doesn't lag or freeze whatsoever. Now the unit is very expensive for personal usage and is a niche product, unless you're a dental student who wishes to improve your skills and it does require training to know exactly what to look for when providing an oral exam to verify for things like cavities, etc. 4.5 stars!

This is a decent [dental] camera with slightly above video quality. The physical build quality is decent (but far from the best) and the buttons, particularly the capture (2 of them, there is also one at the back) and zoom ones, are easy to work with (a few that I've come across aren't).This particular camera does NOT require any additional drivers for it to be detected and/or used. It shows up as 'ProDENT HD CAMERA PD720' under Imaging devices and is ready to be used immediately after being plugged into an USB port. What this means really is that it also does NOT require any specific software as long as the software used can make use of what's being detected which should just be able ANY software capable of utilizing webcams or any other similar devise, including all popular conferencing software that we all become familiar with during the last 2.5 yrs as well as streaming software such as Obs etc.The video quality though really isn't not as good as I expected from a supposedly 720p camera. With that being said, it's not terribly bad either but I've seen much better.≡ NoteThe description states that this is a 2.0MP camera while in the manual it says this is in fact 1.3MP; however, based on the max resolutions this camera supports (1280 x 960), this camera does NOT even qualify as being 1.3MP since 1.3MP supports a max resolution of 1280 x 1024 which this camera does NOT support. 1280 x 960 is usually referred to as QVGA/960p. With that being said, in some standard/literature 1.3MP is being defined as 1280 x 960 (=1,228,800). In either case, conflicting info means ONE of the info is wrong and this is definitely NOT 2.0MP quality. What concerns me though is the fact that it specifically states 'Sheath MUST BE USED with camera' and that too me implies the camera is NOT waterproof (or something to the effect of not being waterproof). I'm not sure how much these protective sheath cost but if they must be used then they are consumables and that adds additional cost to the camera. All in all, this is a decent [dental] camera capable of 720p resolution and it's somewhat reasonably priced at $400; though, the video/image quality isn't exactly great in comparison to some others that I've come across in the past (but it suffices for the purposes). Your mileage might vary.

Current price point at the time/date of this review: $999.00 with no discount/coupon currently being offered by the seller at this time. Um, am I missing something here? This unit seems a little ridiculously overpriced looking at it from an average consumer’s standpoint, and quite possibly from a commercial vantage. For an average consumer buyer, forget it, however not sure how this all works out with the medical/commercial field and whether or this unit is actually WORTH what it’s listed for. Based on what I can see, how it works, and the build quality, I don’t think it should be as expensive as it is regardless. However, I’m no product engineer so I’ll hold off any further judgement.TO BE CLEAR: The ProDENT PD760 goes for much less, like we’re talking more than half the listed price of this unit. The “PD760” model number would suggest either a higher or more recent build but I’m not really too certain about that, in fact I no longer know what to think as it’s going for a substantially lower price point in comparison to this. The build quality on this unit however appears to be a lot more beefier and a little less “plastic-y” (tackier) looking than the PD760. This unit also happens to have more LEDs built in, so not sure why it’s identified with the model reading as: PD720.Anyway, enough with that. To be clear I docked a single star as a result. If this unit really is as overpriced as I might suspect - or even partially - I would’ve DEFINITELY docked a few more stars. My suggestion, if you’re an average consumer leave it to the dentist/professionals with this particular unit, and if you’re just looking to scope around your mouth, well then consider repurposing a cheap endoscope or one of those mini snake cameras both of which you can get for as low as well under $100.Leave it to the pros with this unit. But if your seriously inclined to mess around with this unit in your mouth be my guest. DIY dentistry anyone? I’m kidding and I don’t recommend it.

I had this camera for a few years, here's my reviewPro: - easy to use - mutliple capture buttons help a lot - auto focus - light, easy to handle.Cons: - break down easily esp the cable connector, i had to replace it at least 3x. - the camera housing is plastic, the lens cover detach on me - the camera had to replace a few times too - I was suppose to get 720p resolution, but with xrayvision, I can only get 640x480 resolution. Their tech support try to help, but could do anything.I keep buying because of multiple capturing buttons.

Once driver are loaded in will save pictures but it will not freeze a still picture . Soon as you take a picture it goes to save so you can't see a frozen picture until you close the capture and look at saved images. This is the only camera I have had that does this.

Maybe I didn't read all the directions or the description even though I thought I did, but this cannot be used at home, this is for a dental office to use. Sure don't know how these other glowing reviews get it to work. Also it requires you to register it and pay for the lifetime security key? It has to be loaded intro a desktop computer too.It said it comes with the software CD but there was no CD in the box. I can tell you the light works well lolI think in the right environment ( dental office) it would be real helpful. So for now I am giving it one star I will give an update after I check with my dentist about it.

I’ve had cheaper versions of these cameras before, and I was really dissatisfied with the image quality. This one is completely different - the images are sharp and clear. Granted this is an expensive camera, but sometimes you just have to spend money to get the quality level you need.
