Works well. My only issue is the Wh readings are rounded up.When metering long term that is OK but sometimes, for example, 185 rounded up to 190 is important.

This is a good device. Well made. Accurate in its features & functions. Unfortunately without having a backlit screen, it makes it very difficult to read the display. I wanted to gather the information write it down so that I could keep track of the data for my appliances. I had to get a flash light so I could read the numbers on the display in order to write them down. You might be saying what's the big deal then just use the flash light and move on. My problem is that the company advertised this product with a backlit LCD display feature and the unit I received does not. I read through the manual and there is no mention of it. The seller literally listed this as the first feature in the (About this item) section. *Note to the seller... don't do that. Consumers don't like that. Plus it incurs cost and time in the return process. Speaking of that... I will be returning the item and hope that my review will help in the decision making for anyone about to purchase this item in the future. Thanks - El Guapo.

This energy meter plug is a valuable tool for monitoring and managing energy consumption at home. I'm particularly impressed with the dedicated buttons for each display mode, making it easy to quickly access the information I need without having to press the same button a dozen times. I'm currently using it to track the energy usage of a small electric heater, and it accurately displays power consumption and cost. The backlit LCD screen is bright and easy to read, although the running time display is limited to two digits, which can be an inconvenience after 100 hours of use as the digits reset. Despite this drawback, this meter seems well-designed and works well for keeping track of electricity costs.

Although it has many other useful features, I purchased this HBN meter specifically for the Amp testing ability. Checking the actual amps used by an appliance can help diagnose problems. This amp meter couldn’t be easier to use. Just plug in the appliance to be tested and select Amps on the meter and it instantly displays the results. Great Amp meter, maybe I’ll use some other functions in the future.

I bought this to check the cost of operating one of my window AC units (11 Amp initial start up draw, with a 5 Amp operating rate) and it works great.Once you set the COST $$ of your kilowatt hour in the device it calculates the total Wattage, Amperage, Voltage, Hertz/Frequency and Cost of your electricity usage.It has a 15 Amp rating so you can use it on devices that draw 15 Amps or less.I have a Prius PlugIn and have used it to calculate the cost of charging my battery and it worked wonderfully. The Prius plugs into a regular 110/120 Volt receptacle and only has a 12 Amp draw during charging so this device handled it with ease.

I purchase two of these HBN plug-in electric meters in mid December of 2023. I read the reviews and noticed the number one complaint with these meters was the lack of any backlight. However, I still like the simplicity of this meter and being able to push any one button, one time to get the info I am looking for. Instead of pushing a button several times and scrolling through a menu and finally landing on the info I am looking for. So, even though they had no backlight, I still bought two of them anyway. Not to mention, the price was also the best of all the meters similar to this. Once they arrived and I plunged in the first meter, I was VERY surprised to see they updated the meter design and added a backlight.... but the price is still the same. Probably the best bang for the buck when looking for a meter like this. The one problem I noticed is.... they are not super accurate. I have two identical meters plugged into the same power strip right next to each other and the voltage difference between the two meters is 0.8 of a volt. Again, see picture. Normally I would say that is not acceptable, but this is not the kind of meter to buy if/when looking for extreme accuracy. As long as these meters are within a volt or two from each other that is good enough for me when I am just looking for ballpark figures. If I was doing any serious testing, I would be using high quality meters, not the cheapest meter found on Amazon. Yes, I would buy again...... and I probably will.

No cuenta con ninguna certificación o norma de seguridad, algo que esperaría que tuviera un producto de este tipo.La caja dice que el dispositivo fue diseñado en California, y hecho en China. Sin embargo, las instrucciones, que están en inglés, están tan mal redactas que dudo que ese sea el caso.No quise usarlo por mucho tiempo ya que temo que vaya a dañar algún aparato o prenderse en fuego (como lo mencionó una reseña de EUA).
